Kindred has a few of the top prospects in the state and they need your attention, as they have room for growth as well. These previews are more of a scouting report and analysis, so let’s get to know their games.
Abby Duchscherer Abby Duchscherer 6'1" | CG Kindred | 2022 State ND — (6’1/PG/2022) — 24.2 ppg. — 9.2 rpg. — 84 steals — A stud basketball player but she must be pretty darn good at softball too as she has already committed to Alabama. She makes Kindred go and is one of the top players in the state. A swarming defender with her quickness and length in the Kindred press. A highly skilled passer and scorer. Abby can do it all.
Terryn Johnson Terryn Johnson 6'1" | C Kindred | 2022 State ND — (6’2/C/2022) — 16.2 ppg. — 10.3 rpg. — 48 blocks — Not just a prospect with height, Terryn is a complete post player. Averaged a double-double and absolutely attacks the boards. Receives a ton of defensive attention inside because she’s a force inside scoring the ball without the extra defensive help. Works hard for post positioning and is actively trying to receive a pass inside to score. She will also kick out to shooters if a double or triple team occurs. Can push the ball a little after boarding it to create a fast-break opportunity. Terryn is one of the engines that make Kindred’s fast-break game go. Will run the floor all game and is a high energy prospect in general.
Kacie Burner Kacie Burner 5'8" | CG Kindred | 2023 State ND — (5’9/CG/2023) — 12.1 ppg. — 3.7 rpg. — 45 steals — 38 threes — A really impressive prospect that has good length for a guard. Can go off of the dribble effectively. Can play point guard and on a wing. Ability to lineup a three and knock it down, shooting with accuracy. A smart and talented passer that moves the ball around well and finds open teammates. Glides on the court with good movement ability. Starting to become very high on Kacie and she’ll most likely be a stock-riser. She’s a prospect to watch because she could become an excellent overall player.
Kylie Abernathey Kylie Abernathey 5'9" | SG Mohall-Lansford Sherwood | 2022 State ND — (5’9/G/2022) — 8 ppg. — 4.2 rpg. — 37 steals — Plays her role to a tee as a defensive player that can be an adequate role player on the offensive end. Another guard with good length and good movement ability. Uses her movement ability to make defensive plays. Will pressure the ball-handler to cause mistakes and turnovers by the offense. Uses her length well in the Kindred full-court press to create havoc. Crashes the boards. An offensive player that plays her role and is not afraid to fire from three-point range to keep the defense honest.
