Simone Johnson Simone Johnson 5'8" | PG West Campus | 2021 State CA – 2021, 5’8”, PG & SG, #11, West Campus High School (Sacramento, CA)
Simone Johnson Simone Johnson 5'8" | PG West Campus | 2021 State CA is a very fast, athletic, and competitive player. She is very quick and uses that to her advantage. Johnson is one of the best defenders in the San-Joaquin Section. Johnson has really quick hands that allow her to steal the ball without fouling. She also moves her feet really well on defense, and she doesn’t reach in. Simone is very aggressive on defense, and will never let a defender go by her. She works really hard and is always up in her opponent’s face on defense. Simone averaged 12.1 PPG and scored a total of 315 points during her Junior season of 2019-2020. Johnson also averaged 3.3 APG, 6.5 RPG, and 3.8 SPG. Simone’s jump shot is swift and smooth, and she has really good form. Johnson goes all out to get rebounds on the offensive and defensive ends. When she has the opportunity, she pushes the ball up the court, and she does very well on the fast break. Overall, Simone is an outstanding player with a high skill set.
Lysaida Munoz- 2021, Guard, #12, Ceres High School (Ceres, CA)
Lysaida is a hard worker, especially under the basket. Munoz is really aggressive when it comes to scoring on the block. She has plays made specifically for her because she can execute plays successfully. Most plays made for her are for her to score down low. If plays aren’t made for her, she will find a way to be able to score. Munoz has a very soft touch around the basket, and she is not afraid to drive to the basket as well. Lysaida averaged 8.7 PPG and scored a total of 365 points during her Junior season. She also averaged 6.2 RPG and 2.4 SPG. I think Munoz has a really skilled right hand, but I noticed she can work on her less dominant hand. She uses her dominant hand more often. Most of her points are scored on the block, her shooting is ok. Her form can be improved. She can utilize her skill not just down low but around the perimeter as well, that would be very useful. Overall, she is Lysaida is a great player that has lots of room for improvement.
Alicia Platt- 2021, Guard, #20, Oakdale High School (Oakdale, CA)
Alicia Platt of Oakdale High School in Oakdale, CA that uses her athleticism immensely in her gameplay. Platt can dribble from one of the court to the other on a fast break with multiple defenders on her back and score easily. Not only that, she has an outstanding jump shot. She can easily shoot beyond the arc with no problem at all. She can easily score with defenders in her face. Alicia averaged 17.4 PPG and scored a total of 244 points during her Junior season of 2019-2020. Platt also averaged 2.9 APG, 5.1 RPG, and 4.4 SPG. She also had a 62% free-throw percentage. Alicia is an all-around great player. She is aggressive and confident in her gameplay. When Platt is on a mission, she won’t stop until she achieves her goal. I believe Platt will be very successful during her Senior season.
Maryam Marooki- 2021, 5’5”, Guard, #13, Beyer High School (Modesto, CA)
Maryam Marooki of Beyer High School in Modest, CA is the ultimate hard worker. Maryam goes out in every single play. Maryam is always going all out on defense and offense. When she is on defense, she does a phenomenal job of pressuring her opponent. She will always be in their faces. If I were a coach, I would appreciate the hard work a player puts in their defending. I admire how hard she works to deny her opponent from scoring. Maryam averaged 10.3 PPG, she scored a total of 247 points during her Junior season. She also averaged 1.8 APG, 3.5 RPG, and 2.5 SPG. Marooki has a great jump shot, although I think she can be better at scoring around the basket. She has a great first step on her dribble that allows her to dribble past defenders, but scoring off the dribble is something she can work on. She does run down the court for her teammates on the fast break, and that allows her to get easy open lay-ups. I appreciate a player that is always looking to score off the fast break. Maryam is also a very fast player, and she is very hard to keep up with. Overall, Marooki is a very aggressive player that always gets the job done.
