Several CA players were in attendance, and here’s a quick look at some of the players who raised their profile and you should be on the lookout for.
1. Kaitlyn Hedge – Santa Margarita 2022
A lefty shooter, Hedge has a very good midrange shot and is able to shoot off the dribble. She’s also a good shooter from three-point range. She has good size and length for a wing and she gives strong effort on the glass. She’s able to rise up and shoot over smaller defenders. She’s a good defensive player too; she’s versatile and has the mobility and skill to guard multiple positions. Keeps up with players driving to the rim.
2. Alexis Woodson Alexis Woodson 5'10" | CG American Canyon HS | 2022 State CA – Monte Vista 2022
One of Woodson’s strengths is her ability to get out in transition; she sprints out in front of the defense. She can also start the break herself and get all the way to the rim or pull up for a jump shot. She has a plenty of upside as a wing prospect. She has a near automatic midrange shot and get it off over most defenders. She really moves well without the ball and can get to her spots on the court.
3. Angelina Santana – Oxnard 2022
Santana is very good in pick and roll or pick and pop sets. She sets good screens and can either roll to the basket for an easy two, or she can jump out and knock down the midrange shot. She’s also a threat to score in the paint. She’s a strong interior presence and very good rebounder; a double-double threat. She’s a good defensive presence too. She has quick hands and good awareness to force turnovers.
4. Elle Bohlman Elle Bohlman 5'7" | PG Carmel HS | 2022 State CA – Carmel 2022
Bohlman has a consistent three-point shot with a very quick release. She looks comfortable with the ball in her hands and either attacking the rim or stopping and getting off a jumper. She’s a strong finisher at the rim through contact. She has good size for a combo guard. She has the scoring ability for a shooting guard and the instincts and vision for a point guard. She can find open teammates both on the break and in halfcourt sets.
