In the COVID-19 2020 world we are living in, video and highlight films have become more and more prominent and important. We will be posting evaluations from the videos weekly. In Youtube Evals Class of 2021: Part 3 we take a look at some of the states 2021 prospects.
Amari Hunter Amari Hunter 5'6" | CG Somerset Silver Palms | 2021 State FL (Somerset Silver Palms / Miami Suns)
Hunter is a superb scorer with deep 3-point range well beyond the 3-point line. She is an excellent shooter capable of knocking it down from anywhere once she crosses half court. She is a very athletic guard who also has impressive handle and has great, explosive 1on1 moves and gets to the rack!
Mya Lamar Mya Lamar 6'2" | C Tampa Bay Tech | 2021 State FL (Tampa Bay Tech / Tampa Thunder)
6’4 post with an excellent combination of height and mass. She is extremely mobile for her size. In a world where every post player wants to play on the perimeter, it is refreshing to see a post that wants to post up and be an interior presence. She is a beast inside and is a challenge to move off the block and keep off the boards.
Courtney Logan
Lefty combo guard that is an active defender, excellent passing skills, solid handle and 3-point range. She is an aggressive player that plays hard on both the offensive and defensive end.
Chynna Mattair Chynna Mattair 5'7" | SG Dillard HS | 2021 State FL (Dillard HS / South Florida Spartans)
Long, slender, athletic scoring two guard. She attacks the rim with both her left and right hand and is dangerous in the open court in transition. Solid 3-point shooter who is versatile and an aggressive defender.
Jahnay Mars (Nova HS / Miami Suns)
Undersized small forward who plays extremely physical and aggressive. She plays bigger than her size and throws her weight around to compete against bigger and stronger players. She sets the tone for her team with her hustle and energy as she does all the little things her team needs her to do to win the game. She is extremely active on the boards, runs the floor hard, and is very effective when she catches the ball on the low block. She is an effective high post player with 15-foot range and ability to attack the rim from the free throw line.
Gaby Mayorca (Terra High School)
Combo guard with solid handle and pushes the ball in transition. She is an aggressive penetrator who attacks the basket and plays hard!
Brionna McClinton Brionna McClinton 5'9" | SF Brooks DeBartolo | 2021 State FL (Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School / East Coast United)
Long, athletic 5’9 wing with deep 3-point range. Her length makes her a very impactful defender. Very versatile because her high school team she often plays 3, 4, and 5. She has decent handle and often can start the fast break off a defensive rebound by advancing the ball by herself.
Alyanna McGrath (Coral Glades HS / Miami Suns)
Strong, undersized back to the basket post who had improved her face up game to knock it down from 15 feet and put it to the floor from the high post and short corner. High Iq, good passer for a big, plays hard and unselfish and is a force on the boards. She runs the floor hard on transition offense often out hustling her defender and moves well without the ball cutting to the basket for easy buckets. She does a good job defending post players with their back to basket, walling up and forcing tough shots without fouling.
