Claire Hancock – Oakbrook Prep – Hancock is part of an Oakbrook Prep roster of which half is comprised of juniors. She is one of those and a primary element to her game is her ability to crash the boards. Hancock may have only scored four points (and both field goals came in the third quarter), but she brought in eight rebounds which served as one of the signature performances for the Knights. Based on her proficiency on the glass, Corey Bailey looks to be a productive addition to an Oakbrook Prep team that went 27-5 last season – and made the semifinals of the SCISA 2A tournament.
Natalie Jackson – Oakbrook Prep – For the Knights, she’s an “Action Jackson,” but for opponents she’s simply a pesky little … Nat. Jackson is another of those juniors that Oakbrook Prep will field on the court this season. Notice No. 21 on the floor and she could be hitting a 3-pointer from the top of the key or the corner. Jackson could also be hustling for the loose ball. She will also pass down court to find an open teammate. She managed four rebounds and scored 15 points for Oakbrook Prep plus reached that number with a good combination of the 3-pointer and the free throw.
Kaycee Smith Kaycee Smith 6'1" | C Spartanburg Christian | 2022 State SC – Spartanburg Christian Academy (pictured on front) – Kaycee has Warriors fans saying, “Yay!” … see. Smith is listed at 6-foot-1 and got the start at the 5 for the Warriors. Smith’s skillset includes making tough shots against defenders and drawing contact to find herself at the free throw line. She is only player on the roster listed at least 6 feet. To say the least, she is a challenge for whoever has to guard her as a defensive assignment. In Spartanburg Christian’s win over Arborbrook Christian, she scored 12 points and showcased her free throw shooting prowess. Six of the 12 points she scored came from the stripe.
Smith transferred over to Spartanburg Christian Academy after playing at Oakbrook Prep last season.
