The event was being held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and the Myrtle Beach Sports Center. Lets take a look at some players from the 2023 Palmetto State who stood out while we were in attendance watching this week.
Kamya Hatten Kamya Hatten 6'0" | SF Southside | 2023 State SC – Legacy Early College
Hatten was very effective in the few games we were able to watch the Lady Lions play this week. Hatten came off the bench for the Lady Lions as the 6th man in both games I watched this week. Hatten is always around the ball from her position on the floor. Hatten has a blue-collar mentality and never gives up while trying to get to the ball. Hatten picks up a lot of loose change buckets on just effort and heart. Hatten will play the game on contact and she for sure gets to the foul line at a good clip.
Amiyah Ferguson Amiyah Ferguson 5'9" | CG Timberland | 2023 State SC – Northwood Academy (Summerville)
Ferguson a left-handed guard likes to penetrate the gaps and find her open teammates. Ferguson plays the game at a good pace and has the ability to knockdown shots from 3 point range. Ferguson has a nice stroke from downtown and isn’t afraid to let it fly at a good clip. Ferguson keeps the ball low to the floor and never seems to overhandle it or turn it over.
Kenzie Feagin Kenzie Feagin 5'5" | SG Trinity Collegiate | 2023 State SC – Florence Christian (pictured on front)
Feagin feels most comfortable playing off the ball and popping off screens. Feagin plays the game with a great deal of determination and heart that is for sure. Feagin plays the game to the fullest and never seems to let up if it’s calling out a play on the defensive end of the floor or telling a teammate to go somewhere on the offensive end. Feagin looks to directing at all times for the Lady Eagles.
Sailor Rearden Sailor Rearden 5'6" | PG Socastee | 2023 State SC – Low Country Prep (Pawleys Island)
Rearden plays at a very small SCISA Class 1A school on the Grand Strand. Rearden has piled up some numbers over the years for the Marlins. Rearden has a nice stroke from downtown and really plays the game with a good attitude.
