This is a preview of five front court players whose names you should know who will raise their stock this season.
2021 Olivia Holman Olivia Holman 6'0" | SF Ballard | 2021 State WA 5’11” WING (Ballard) Lefty who is extremely versatile. Good ball handler and passer with strong IQ and court vision. Solid post up game. Has good shooting touch beyond the arc. Has consistently played the 1-4 for the Beavers. Could easily be steal for a JUCO or strong add for a DII or DIII program.
2021 6’0″ Jaelyn Johnson Jaelyn Johnson 6'0" | PF Roosevelt | 2021 State WA POST (Roosevelt HS) Fundamentally sound with the strength needed to play either the 4 or 5. High IQ on both ends of the floor. Never shies away from physicality and finishes through contact. Adept at creating out of both in high and low posts. Has a reliable midrange shot that often surprises opponents. College potential for a program looking for interior toughness.
2022 6’2” Alma Rack Alma Rack 6'3" | C Nathan Hale | 2022 State WA POST (Nathan Hale HS) Has shown glimpses of becoming a college prospect. Solid rebounder and fierce rim protector. Led Washington State and was near the top in the nation in blocks last season. Soft shooting touch to 18’. Good court vision and ability to pass out of double teams. Look for her to become a dominant 2-way player her final two seasons.
2021 6’0″ Jaliyah Sampson Jaliyah Sampson 6'0" | SF Rainier Beach | 2021 State WA WING (Rainier Beach) With extremely good touch and plenty of range on her shot, Sampson posses the skills and size to play anywhere in the front court. Currently receiving interest at the JUCO level, look for Sampson to make the most of her senior season With Rainier Beach as she aims to take the Vikings to greater heights while boosting her prospects at the next level.
2022 6’0″ Jadyn Watts Jadyn Watts 6'0" | SF West Seattle | 2022 State WA WING (West Seattle) More than a wing, Watts can play every position on the floor and excels in the front court. Has elite athleticism and strength. Scores in a variety of ways from nearly everywhere. Improving jump shot and handle combined with elite footwork and high IQ make her a matchup nightmare. Solid rebounder whose defense has improved every season. Her game has her on the radar of multiple D1 programs for good reason.
