Aly Avrach Aly Avrach 5'8" | CG Spanish River | 2022 State FL 5’8 Spanish River
A talented scorer, Avrach put up nearly 20 a night as a Sophomore and earned a Fab Five nod. She is able to create in the half-court with a knack for tough buckets. She will attack from anywhere on the floor, the Junior has the floater, finger rolls, and a sweet pull-up jumper. Avrach has a nice high release on her 3, and when she locks in, at 5’8 she can make shots over smaller defenders. I saw her make a post move, that convinced me she is a complete scorer, her ability to put up points is one thing, but she does it in different ways. Finishes with either hand, mid-range, spot-up or pull up 3’s, I really liked her ability to create when there didn’t seem to be anything there. Avrach can score at every level, she is one of the more complete players I have covered, in terms of scoring, Palm Beach Atlantic is lucky to have landed her.
Raven Hunter Raven Hunter 5'10" | CG American Heritage Delray | 2022 State FL 5’8 American Heritage
Hunter is an aggressive wing with great size for the Guard spot. When she gets it in her mind that she’s attacking, she can finish through contact and has the finesse to kiss shots off the glass for and 1’s. I like the way she can attack going left or right, and score it with either hand. Hunter is an active defender, the junior can cause real problems with her length and ability to make reads. A capable shooter, when she gets her feet set it’s a good look from deep. Hunter is a player who colleges will like because she can mix it up down low with the bigs, and has the handle to push the break in transition. Her development having played alongside Jordana Codio Jordana Codio 6'1" | SF Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL is something I would think has benefited her game.
Riana Doctor Riana Doctor 6'0" | PF Gulliver Prep | 2022 State FL 6’0 Gulliver Prep
Doctor is a walking double-double at the high school level. She is more than a serviceable rebounder and can finish around the rim. She does the things you would want from your frontcourt players, and she does them well. I like how quickly she will shoot the high post jumper, she will flash to the foul line and knock one down with ease. Her ability to develop her face-up game will be huge for her, the junior isn’t afraid to attack off the bounce. Her mid-range game is my favorite aspect of her repertoire. A high academic prospect as well, Doctor performs in the classroom which makes her that much more marketable to colleges. If opposing teams don’t find her and put a body on her, it’s going to be a long night against the Gulliver Prep star.
Claire Erickson Claire Erickson 5'6" | PG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL 5’7 Westminster Academy
A point guard mixed with a knockdown shooter, she does a lot of good things for a great program. Coming off a First Team All-County selection, the junior has already reached the 1000 point mark. I really like how quick her release is, at times you will see shooters whose shot-making ability can be questioned by the time it takes them to let it fly, this is not the case with Erickson, she has a quick trigger. She will control the tempo pushing the ball, slowing it down when needed, and get it into the hands of the talent around her. Erickson can play off the bounce too, she will pull one if she feels the space, and will get in the lane looking to score or dish after drawing the defense. She comes from a great Essence program on the AAU circuit, and another summer of development under that umbrella is scary for the competition.
Maya Williams Maya Williams 5'6" | CG St Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL 5’4 St. Thomas Aquinas
Williams has a good burst of speed when playing downhill. I enjoyed watching the energy she plays with, the St. Thomas product has a nice overhand finish. Crafty around the rim, she is somewhat of a one-woman fast break, with a great end to end speed. Williams is the type of player that if bigs run the floor, she can make life easy for. The junior has a good catch-and-shoot jumper as well. Defensively she gets into passing lanes and will finish after she steals it. The type of defenders who are looking to cause turnovers are always fun to watch, Williams really gets after opposing guards. She will set her teammates up as well for easy finishes and open jumpers. I think her ability to show she can run an offense will be huge for her recruitment.
Samiyah Briggs Samiyah Briggs 5'7" | SG Calvary Christian | 2022 State FL 5’9 Cavalry Christian
Coming off a First-Team All Broward selection, Briggs is a physical, aggressive player for Calvary. Her athleticism makes her dangerous defensively and on the boards, she does a good job with lateral movements and attacking the ball when it’s coming off the rim. Briggs has a nice form on her jumper and moves well without the ball. She can push the break when she rebounds and will find her teammates if they fill the lane correctly. Briggs has vision as well, I watched her throw a number of overhead assists from the top of the key, Cavalry does a good job of getting it to her in spots she can be a threat. The junior will shoot the mid-range, which I always enjoy seeing. Her versatility is appealing, she can play in the short corner area attacking from the baseline, or from the frontcourt area, spacing the floor with her jumper. She is a threat off the dribble as well, she has a nice cross over and will get in the paint going left or right. Briggs can also finish through contact after good hard cuts, she and Elizabeth Schnell Elizabeth Schnell 5'7" | CG Calvary Christian Academy | 2022 State FL are a great 1-2 punch.
