2021
Arleighsha Fontenot Arleighsha Fontenot 5'7" | SG Ridgepoint | 2021 State TX
Fontenot put on a show at Sandra Meadows a few years ago on her way to a 40 point game with close to 10 from BTA and the last time I saw her was in the playoffs last season where she was virtually unstoppable as she simply found ways to put the ball in the basket, mainly from long distance. She has gone from a back to basket player in elementary school to one of the top long ball shooters in Texas
Nicole Petrakovitz Nicole Petrakovitz 5'8" | SG Oak Ridge | 2021 State TX
Petrakovits is a gamer, falls into that “scorers” category because she’s hard to defend with that quick first step combined with the great body control to finish acrobatically worthy of Barnum and Bailey highlights yet that opens it up for the long ball because she elevates nicely on her jumper, she has a quick release and it’s consistent, same applies to her catching and shooting it
Ashley Corpus Ashley Corpus 5'6" | CG Southwest Legacy | 2021 State TX
Corpus is one of those players that live for the “clutch” and her numerous momentum changers, buzzer beaters, game tiers, and (or) winners from long distance has been a joy to watch. I caught her at a fall league outside of San Antonio, her performance got her on the Top 100 and seeing her at various showcases as well as club ball against heated competition proves I was right, I’m always right
Tori Garza Tori Garza 5'8" | SG New Caney | 2021 State TX
Garza told me the first time I saw her play, her team lost by 40 and I responded “yeah but you dropped 40, in retrospect, it may have closer to 50 because she probably had double-digit threes, nevertheless, the Oklahoma State signee has put on some offensive shows against some of the top defensive players and teams, she creates her shot in traffic and release is smooth and fluid
Amber Williams-5’7 SG (Cypress Springs)
Williams is relatively unknown because her club team didn’t have her in front of the next-level competition, I speak about shooting for the wins yet that ain’t what it’s about, well for me, but fortunately, I’ve seen enough of her to know she can play somewhere at the next level. I watched her drop 40 against one of the state’s top teams at a tournament, 8 or 8 from BTA and she’s coming off another barrage of threes in a big district win. She’s strong and also creates contact on the three-ball, giving her 4 point opportunities
2022
Olivia Brennan-5’7 SG (Trinity Christian)
Brennan is leading the stat with 72 three pointers, she probably would have over 80 if she hadn’t missed some games due to an ankle sprain and before someone starts sending emails about numbers, as I state over and over, I judge on what I see and it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against and after watching her perform during the club season, she understands how to create and when to shoot it
Nyanna Robertson Nyanna Robertson 5'7" | PG Boswell | 2022 State TX
Robertson “set it off” at the MT Rice Tournamnent I attended last season, her blazing speed with the ball was the first thing that caught my eye as she pushed the ball effortlessly in traffic yet her “stop and pop” threes were impressive then, so were her coming around the screen dropping the “catch and shoot” but when crunch time came, she was in yet another zone and is one of the states leaders
