Below is a list of players whom were not able to compete this season due to COVID rules in their city, Milwaukee. Each one of these players have had incredible careers leading up to this point and although we are sad to not been able to watch them compete at the high school level this season- their talents and accolades should not go unnoticed in the recruiting process. Marchelle Bowden Marchelle Bowden 5'10" | SF Milwaukee Hamiltonon | 2021 State WI | Milwaukee Hamilton | Senior | 5’10 W
The Hamilton standout led her team in scoring last season and showed how dominant she can be any given night. It didn’t matter who Bowden faced up against during her first years with Hamilton, she was going to battle and put on a show. An impressive prospect who has a high ceiling to do great things at the next level. Bowden is an effortless scorer who impacts the game from basically anywhere on the floor. She is absolutely lethal in the mid range and can drive past almost anyone in the conference and finish strong. She’s a strong and smart rebounder who does an excellent job at ceiling her player and chasing down boards. She was also phenomenal on the offensive boards and saw a lot of points off of put back baskets. She has a smooth release on the perimeter as well. Last season she finished second in the conference in scoring, behind Syracuse freshman Khamya McNeal Khamya McNeal 5'7" | CG Milwaukee King | 2020 State WI . Bowden averaged 19 points and 14 rebounds per game.
Aaleyah Jones Aaleyah Jones 5'5" | PG Milwaukee Riverside | 2021 State WI | Milwaukee Riverside | Senior | 5’6 PG
The Riverside guard is a crafty and high tempo guard who sets the pace on both ends of the floor. Last season she averaged nearly 16 points per game. In a game against a tough Milwaukee School of Languages team last year, Jones scored 30 points in the win. A sniper from behind the arc, Jones can knock down the three point shot with consistency. She is a versatile guard with incredibly high potential. She has a quicker burst of speed than some might guess- she uses jabs to create the illusion of an even quicker first step. She is much more than a raw athlete, she is actually quite smooth and moves well. Shot creation skills on the perimeter and in the lane are impressive as well.
Amariona Humphrey | Milwaukee Vincent | Junior | 5’5 G
Last season Humphrey averaged nearly 14 points per game. Humphrey is a crafty point guard that uses her understanding of the game to produce. She is savvy with the ball and plays intentionally on the court- not much of what she does is wasted energy. She is unbothered by her lack in height and makes up for it in the way she moves on the floor. She has the creativity and poise to split double teams. She’s a phenomenal passer on the move. She understands her role as a point guard and does not try to accomplish to much. She knows when to rely on her teammates and when to take it herself- it was very exciting to watch last season. She’s also an extremely advanced on ball defender.
Ja’Cia Cunningham Ja’Cia Cunningham 5'8" | PG Milwaukee School of Languages | 2022 State WI | Milwaukee School of Languages | Junior | 5’8 PG
Though she is not able to compete in the high school season, offers are still raining in for the Milwaukee School of Languages and Lady Mean Streets standout. She’s been putting in work with the time off and still finding ways to improve her game. She’s a gifted athlete and two-way prospect. She’s a phenomenal defender and deflects multiple passes per game. She pushes the ball in transition and finishes with crafty moves inside the lane. Last season she averaged nearly 13 points per game. In a win over Milwaukee Madison, Cunningham scored 23 points for her team.
Sidney Scruggs Sidney Scruggs 5'6" | PG Milwaukee Riverside | 2022 State WI | Milwaukee Riverside | Junior | 5’5 G
Scruggs is a physically advanced primary guard that possesses impressive athleticism. She utilizes momentum very well to carry her to the rim. She attacks with ferocity and power. She is a great slasher due to her explosive first step and strong shoulders. She’s able to score at all three levels and was becoming extremely consistent behind the arc late last season. She’s a true playmaker with elite court vision. Last season Scruggs finished with 10 points per game. In a win over Milwaukee School of Languages, Sruggs scored 22 points for her team.
Shiauna Nixon- Boyd Shiauna Nixon- Boyd 5'8" | CG Milwaukee Riverside | 2021 State WI | Milwaukee Riverside | Senior | 5’8 CG
Nixon- Boyd averaged 10 points per game last season. In a win over Marshall, the Riverside standout scored 16 points for her team. She is a great finisher around the rim. Her downhill drive is very hard to stop and she’s looking to drop her defender every time. Defenders have a hard time staying in front, and when she gets by she almost always capitalizes. Nixon- Boyd’s is electrifying and contagious for her teammates. She has great lateral quickness that allows her to stay in front of players, this will serve her well at the next level.
Faith Robertson Faith Robertson 5'9" | CG Shorewood | 2023 WI | Milwaukee Hamilton | Sophomore | 5’8 G
Robertson is extremely versatile and a fun prospect to watch compete. She’s a two-way standout and can put up huge numbers on either end. A fierce and confident rebounder, Robertson helped lead her team to some huge wins during her freshman season. She averaged 10 points and nearly 7 rebounds per game. In a win over Bradley Tech, Reoberson scored 23 points for her team. She is very athletic with ability to score effectively in the mid range and on the block. Robertson is a great decision maker and doesn’t force anything on either end of the floor. Her ability to score in transition was impressive last season- she pushes the tempo and can handle the ball at a high level.
Alvi Badberry Alvi Badberry 5'8" | CG Milwaukee School Of Science | 2022 State WI | Milwaukee Marshall | 5’8 G | Junior
The combo guard helped lead her team to a winning season during her sophomore year. A talented athlete who was a player to watch before the season cancellation, Badberry has incredible abilities on the floor. She’s a skilled guard who does everything right on both ends of the floor. She’s an incredible defender and can play high pressure at a high level the entire length of the floor. She’s a high energy player with a great motor. She’s clearly very competitive and gets after it by grabbing deflections and causing turnovers. Offensively during her sophomore season she averaged nearly 22 points per game. In a win over Milwaukee North, the Marshall standout scored 25 points for her team.
Santia Sargent | Milwaukee Hamilton | 5’2 PG | Senior
The senior was going to be an impact player for this Hamilton squad this season. During her junior campaign Sargent became a fierce leader and a impressive playmaker. She has the ability to create her own shot off the dribble and was becoming more consistent behind the arc as well. She’s able to fly by defenders as her first step and footwork are extremely quick. She’s a fabulous teammate as well, constantly getting players open and being an intelligent passer into the post. As a junior, Sargent averaged 9.3 points per game and dished out 2.6 assists per game. In a win against Milwaukee Pulaski, the point guard scored a season-high 18 points for her team.
