Below is a list of players who had impressive performances this week. Each of these prospects is in the Class of 2021.
Olivia Tinder | Turner | 5’7 G
The guard had an impressive performance Monday in a huge win over Big Foot. Tinder scores from inside the lane extremely well but will also knock down a perimeter shot if left open. She does well drawing the foul inside the lane and many of her points come from her efficiency at the free throw line. In the win she led her team with 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Torie Loppnow | Waterford | 5’11 F
Loppnow has incredible potential for the next level. Her length and skill are fun to watch as she is very crafty and can do many things on the court. She’s confident and patient- never forcing too much within the offense. She can rebound the basketball and has shown glimpses of being an impact playmaker as well. She’s able to step outside and knock down the perimeter basket. In a win over Milton on Thursday she led her team in scoring with 15 points.
Sydney Jahr | Holmen | 6’0 F
Jahr is a consistent threat that can easily be a spark plug for this Holmen team. She has great athleticism, length and quickness for her size. She is averaging 11 points per game and grabbing 6 boards per game as well. She’s a beast on the offensive boards and see’s multiple points off put back buckets. She uses her body well in the lane and is extremely hard to defend when going downhill. In a three point win over La Crosse Central, Jahr scored 20 points for her team.
Alexa Thomson Alexa Thomson 5'8" | CG West De Pere | 2021 State WI | West De Pere | 5’8 G
Thomson is an important player on this team as she can effortlessly score from all three levels on the floor. The UW- Stevens Point guard has helped lead her team to multiple big wins this season. She can play inside the lane with her back to the basket and does not shy away from defenders who are much taller than her. In a win over Green Bay East, Thomson scored 14 points.
Kiley Deaton Kiley Deaton 5'9" | CG Wausau West | 2021 State WI | Wausau West | 5’10 G
Deaton is such a talented guard who has exceptional length and can play inside and out of the lane. She’s able to use her strength to hold a player on the block on either ends of the floor. She’s a great rebounder who has the ability to push the ball in transition as well. She does not shy away from the 3 point basket either. In a win over Marshfield, Deaton led her team in scoring with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Bailey Butler Bailey Butler 5'7" | PG Black Hawk | 2021 State WI | Black Hawk | 5’8 PG
The UW Green Bay commit is consistently putting up huge numbers and deserves recognition for putting 100% on the floor in every game she competes in. A playmaking guard who utilizes her court vision and smooth shot to impact the game. In a win over a talented Barneveld team, Butler scored 24 points and dished out 11 assists.
Nicole Norton | Southern Door | 5’9 G
The Southern Door guard has been a phenomenal offensive threat this season and has been proving she can put up large numbers every game. She’s been averaging 25 points per game this season and as teams begin to scout her heavy, defensive pressure has picked up as well. She is still finding ways to get to the rim and score the basketball. In her game on Monday against Oconto, Norton scored 23 points.
Olivia Gamoke Olivia Gamoke 5'7" | CG Onalaska | 2021 State WI | Onalaska | 5’6 PG
Gamoke is a smooth point guard with decision making and skill that is going to be phenomenal at the next level. This season she’s taken a huge leadership role for this team and has helped lead her team to big wins this season. She uses great hesitation dribble and is able to pull up and consistently hit the mid range jumper. She’s an aggressive rebounder as well and pushes the ball in transition. In a win over Rhinelander on Tuesday, Gamoke led her team in scoring with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
Maya White-Eagle | Baraboo | 5’6 G
White Eagle continues to put up impressive numbers and lead her team this season. She’s so close to hitting 1,000 career points and is well on her way if she continues to play at such a high level offensively. She’s been becoming more consistent on the 3-point line as well. In a huge victory over Mauston, White- Eagle led her team in scoring with 24 points.
LaCyia Hill | Green Bay Southwest | 5’7 G
Hill is a phenomenal athlete who utilizes her speed and agility well on the floor. She’s advanced in her handles and can effortlessly fly by anyone on the perimeter. She will take the perimeter shot if left open but is extremely impactful when attacking the lane. She does well drawing the foul and will capitalize on the free throw line. In a win over Ashwaubenon on Tuesday, Hill led her team in scoring with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Morgann Gardner Morgann Gardner 6'1" | PF Racine Lutheran | 2021 State WI | Racine Lutheran | 6’2 F
Gardner is leading her team this season on both ends of the floor. She’s a dominant two-way athlete who is a huge asset for this team. Defensively she is intimidating in the lane- her presence simply forces opponents to force perimeter shots. However she has the footwork and quickness to be able to step out and defend outside the lane as well. She has shown glimpses of elite shot blocking ability as well. Offensively she can score from all three levels and has many different post moves in her arsenal. It is exciting watching Gardner become comfortable with the ball as she continues to become more confident attacking from the perimeter. In a win over Racine St. Catherine’s, the Nebraska Omaha commit scored 20 points.
Laurissa Pickel | Weston | 5’8 G
Pickel had a tremendous performance this week. The senior showed how well she plays in a fast paced system and how she can effectively finish in transition. Although her team didn’t get the win this week she did phenomenally well on the offensive end. Pickel finished with 30 points in a game against Ithaca.
Emma Thistle | Kettle Moraine Lutheran | 5’4 PG
A playmaking guard who is able to create a game for herself and her teammates. She’s lethal off the dribble and when she puts her head down she is very difficult to defend. She does well finishing at the free throw line as well. In a win over Winneconne this week, Thistle led her team in scoring with 18 points.
Gwen McCorison | Butternut | 5’8 G
McCorison showed how she can put up huge numbers for her team in a win over Chequamegon this Saturday. She’s an offensive threat who just takes over with her ability to attack the rim and finish from deep. She’s an impressive athlete who is high energy and plays a full game at a high level. She has skills to be able to finish against contact and uses her pivot well to find the right shot inside. In the win on Saturday, the senior led her team in scoring with 32 points.
