Week 10: Mid-Week Top Players

The beginning of week 10 has seen some impressive young ladies continue to make a name for themselves. They have filled up box scores, contributing towards wins for their perspective ballclubs. These ladies have shown that any night of the week, it’s game on when they play their team. From being defensive juggernauts to shooting step-back shots, girls across the state are primed and ready to ball out.
Here are the girls who’ve had outstanding performances so far this week.
Reagan Hurst Reagan Hurst 5'9" | SG Upperman | 2021 State TN (Sr. Upperman)– Continues to have an impressive senior year for the Lady Bees. Another coach’s analysis “she’s a bucket,” rings true as she scored 30 pts this week for her team. This Miss Tennessee Basketball candidate is primed and ready to lead her team towards capturing another state title.
Reghan Grimes Reghan Grimes 5'9" | PF Ravenwood | 2022 State TN (Jr. Ravenwood) – This 5’10 power forward had 30 pts against an Independence ball club. Reghan is a beast down low and runs the floor well in transition. She is very heady on the defensive end as well. She has many offensive tools that she can use from shooting the occasional 3 ball, to playing inside.
Bella Vinson Bella Vinson 6'2" | SF Coffee County | 2021 State TN (Sr. Coffee County)– Creating mismatches with her height, Bella is a tall and lanky combo guard standing 6’2. It showed earlier this week as she put up 29 points on Tuesday. Bella was dominating both inside and out as she helped lead her team to victory. What’s impressive about Bella is that she possesses an arsenal of moves that she utilizes when getting to the basket. If you stop her on the inside, good luck stopping her from deep.
Abbey Harrison (Jr. Hernando)– The 6’2 center dropped 28 points Tuesday night. Abbey displayed toughness down low, creating havoc on both ends of the court. Look for her to continue being an offensive threat down the road for her ball club.
McKenzie Cochran (Jr. Page)– This point guard did more than drop dimes on Centennial, she brought in a game-high 28 points against the lady cougars. She was tough on the defensive end, resulting in transition buckets. She even did her fair share of dialing deep from the arc.
Josie Parks (Jr. Columbia)– The junior has stepped up to the challenge of helping her lady lion ball club. This week she shot an impressive seven 3 pointers on Tuesday night (finished with 24 points) while dialing in five 3 pointers the night before (finishing with 26 points). Look for this 5’8 shooting guard to stay hot down the stretch.
Karly Weathers Karly Weathers 5'11" | CG Loretto | 2022 State TN (Sr. Loretto)– Despite falling on Tuesday, Karly put up 27 points against Summertown. From shooting 3s to getting to the rim, Karly continued to show heart and leadership despite the loss. Though it was just one game, look for Karly and her team to bounce back next game.
Maxine Engle (Sr. Hutchison)– Had a very impressive night. She had 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assist. She dialed deep and shot the ball well throughout the night. Look for her to continue to make big strides as she helps lead Hutchison in the district.
Katie Arms (Sr. Clay County)– This 5’6 shooting guard shot an impressive five 3 pointers as she brought in 25 points against Trousdale Co. Katie shot lights out as her teammates looked for her to knock down shots throughout the course of the game. Look for her to continue her impressive performance for weeks to come.
Ella Grace Thompson (Jr. Lipscomb Academy)– The 5’6 floor general for the lady mustangs was everywhere. She had a couple of steals on the defensive end along with 23 points. Look for her to continue to help lead her ballclub as they position themselves towards being at the top of their district.
Olivia Hart (So. Central Magnet)– The 5’10 small forward was everywhere on the court. She was a beast on the defensive end blocking shots and controlling the boards. She had a game-high 20 points.
Maci Pitner Maci Pitner 5'5" | SG Seymour | 2021 State TN (Sr. Seymour)– Maci brought in 23 points as she helped lead her team to victory. From starting fast breaks to shooting the ball at a high clip, Maci was zoned in Tuesday night for her ball club.
Lauren Bailey Lauren Bailey 5'10" | SF Greeneville | 2023 State TN (So. Greeneville)– The 5’8 sophomore was big for her ball club. From making blocks and steals to draining 3s, Lauren tallied 29 points in her team’s game Tuesday night.
Sydney Mains Sydney Mains 5'11" | SF Knoxville Catholic | 2024 State TN (Fr. Knoxville Catholic)– The 5’10 freshman continues to have an impressive coming out party this year. She had 22 points as she dazzled on both ends of the court. Her length continues to create a problem for opponents.
Avery Treadwell Avery Treadwell 6'2" | C Bearden | 2023 State TN (So. Bearden)– The 5’10 center was a beast down low for her team. Working block to block, she tallied 28 points in helping her team win. She controlled the boards on both ends of the floor, being a staple in the middle for her ballclub.
Anna Muhonen Anna Muhonen 6'1" | C Bradley Central | 2021 State TN (Sr. Bradley Central)– The 6’2 center is an awesome talent for the Lady Bearettes. She dropped 22 points in their win on Tuesday night. Anna continues to contribute on both ends of the court, creating mismatches for many opposing teams.
Jalisa Sanders (Jr. Boyd Buchanon)– The junior guard an impressive night bringing in 20 points for her ball team. Jalisa continues to be the energy for her team as they look to make some noise in their district.
Julie Wagner (Sr. USJ)– The 6’2 senior continues to have a great senior season. She brought in 34 points on Tuesday night. She was dominant on both ends of the floor, helping lead her team in many stats. Look for her to continue being a force for her squads the rest of the year.
Olivia Lee Olivia Lee 5'11" | SG Jackson Trinity Christian Academy | 2023 State TN (So. TCA)– Olivia has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. She plays the game with a lot of energy, which makes her team a tough opponent. She had 30 points on Tuesday even though her team fell short. Look for this young lady to continue to make some noise throughout her high school career.
Rebecca Walter (Jr. Bradford)– Rebecca is such a solid ballplayer that does the little things right. She plays well on both ends of the floor. Tuesday she brought in 28 points to help lead her team. She is a tremendous talent looking to make even bigger strides the more she steps onto the floor.
Ta’Myra Bogan (Sr. Jackson North Side)– Had an awesome night providing 24 points for her ball team. She was all over the place, being a consistent spark for her school. Look for her to help bring the noise as her team tries to make a run in the district.
Blaize Deere (Sr. Scotts Hill) – Fiery PG. She is truly a floor general for her team. Blaize is the spark plug night in and night out that ignites her team. She shot the ball well, bringing in 20 points on Tuesday. Look for her to continue to lead her team as they get ready for the district tournament.
Shakirah Drake (Sr. Haywood) – Versatile standing at 5’9, was creating havoc on both ends of the floor. She dropped 33 points as she lead her team in many stats columns. Look for her to continue to bring a powerful punch as her club gets ready to battle for the district tournament.
Amaya Thompson (Jr. West Carroll) – This 5’6 wing has a nice mid-range game that compliments her ability to get to the bucket. She is a force on the defensive end, salivating on opportunities to jump passes. She brought in 24 points on Tuesday night for her club.
