College Station made an unbelievable run last season and their overtime win against top-seeded Cedar Park in the Regional Finals sent them to the State Championship final 4. They came up short, but they got there, and it appears they are on the verge of heading back with a very impressive victory over Richmond Foster, their only losses were to 6A #1 Cy Creek, by 12 each game. Let me give a special S/O to College Station’s Cornecia Thompson as Sissy’s defense was huge and played a major part in their victory as they face Beaumont United to see who represent Region 3
“Puff” is an explosive scorer as well as an improved PG that scored 10 points but her energy on both ends helps jumpstart her squad as it trickles down to everyone else
Nay is one of their scoring threats from multiple spots, either attacking and finishing off-balance to dropping deep threes, her 14 points came in a variety of ways, and last years Miss Clutch is ready for an encore
McMillin is one of the top sophomores in Texas and her poise has jumped this season as she understands she’s hard to contain, her 15 points in this type of game under the bright lights
Jayden Davenport-5’11 F
Davenport dropped 13 points however her unofficial 17 rebounds, I stopped counting were big as she went after everything that came off the glass. You can’t teach desire and those second shot opportunities just weren’t there for Foster
RICHMOND FOSTER (23-3)
Kaiya Wynn-6’0 G
Wynn has the right last name because her arrival helped them to many wins as well as in a position to make a state championship run that probably wouldn’t have happened. She dropped 22 points in her last high school game before heading to Tennesse
Blanton has been a star since her freshman season and she kept getting better and her ability to score off the dribble and mid to long-range was major in their success this season. The Louisiana Lafayette signee dropped 17 points and her future college squad just won the Sun Belt
