They are not only leading their team but also the class of 4A. We are coming down to wire for teams to play in the playoffs, and this group of players are more than capable of helping their team get there.
Let’s take a look at some of the top scorers in 4A!!
Amyah Moore Amyah Moore 5'9" | SG Harrison | 2021 State CO (2021, 5’9″, Harrison)
Moore can score the ball in bunches from inside or behind the perimeter. She is a player that does it all to help her team win games. She is averaging 28.0 points per game, and very efficient when she is in the game shooting 100-of-169 (59 percent) from the field. Moore is also averaging 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, and 5.6 steals per game. She has already surpassed the 1,000 points in her career, and needs 50 more points to get to 1,500 which she is on track to do.
Dominique Valdez (2024, 5’2″, Kennedy)
Valdez is making her presence known coming in as a freshman, and not shying away from putting the ball in the basket. She is averaging 24.1 points per game, and shows that she can shoot the ball extending out to behind the arc. Valdez a player that can be a key part of Kennedy success for years to come as she continue to improve her game.
Kaydee Sims Kaydee Sims 5'9" | SF Weld Central | 2021 State CO (2021, 5’10″, Weld Central)
Sims has already proven that she can score among the best of them in Colorado. She has made strides in every stat this year to help her team improve to a 9-2 season overall, and first in their league. Sims is averaging 23.5 points per game, and 97-of-193 (50 percent) from the floor. She can also get to the rim, and finish with a soft touch. Sims is averaging a double-double averaging 13.0 rebounds, and 7.2 steals per game.
Nikki Derrell Nikki Derrell 5'3" | PG Sand Creek | 2021 State CO (2021, 5’3″, Sand Creek)
Derrel can handle the ball well, and she has some wiggle to her game making her a tough player to contain. She shows that she can shoot with range, and off the dribble. She is averaging 22.9 points per game, and put up a season high in points scoring 37 points against Falcon. Derrel knocked down her season high in 3 pointers that game with 8 total made 3’s. To go along with her 22.9 points, she also averaging 4.3 assist, and 3.5 steals per game. She has already joined the 1,000 point club last year, and adding more to her numbers this season
Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6'2" | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO (2023, 6’2″, Thomas Jefferson)
Murrell is a player that has tremendous height for her position. She can play inside or outside making her a tough matchup each game. She does a great job grabbing boards to help her team gain extra possessions. Murrell is one of the top players in her class in Colorado, and the ceiling is high for her being only a sophomore. She is averaging 21.4 points per game 63-of-130 (48 percent) from the field. Murrell is also averaging a double-double grabbing 14 rebounds per game.
