Here are five standout 2021 prospects from this past week’s action:
Eryka Patton Eryka Patton 5'11" | SF Lewisville | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 5’11’’ Small Forward | Denton Guyer HS – Patton spends a lot of her time operating in the post for Guyer, but she is a natural wing. The Henderson State commit does a a little bit of everything for the Wildcats at both ends. On Tuesday, she had some fantastic takes to the basket off the dribble, displaying good body control when finishing, while also showing she is a capable shooter by drilling a mid-range jumper. Defensively, Patton was consistently in the right place at the right time, coming away with six steals to go along with her 10 points and three rebounds.
Laura Nosakhare-Bello | 2021 | 6’3’’ Power Forward/Center | Allen HS – Bello came off the bench for the Eagles Tuesday night and immediately supplied them with energy. She provided a spark for Allen by pulling down offensive rebounds and playing tough defense in the paint. The senior post is a hardworking interior defender who is great at challenging shots down low and cleaning the glass, ending the contest with four rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. Additionally, Bello hit a beautiful hook shot, smartly using the glass to convert.
Evie Goetz Evie Goetz 5'11" | SF Denton Guyer | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’1’’ Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Denton Guyer HS – Goetz was her usual productive self vs. Allen, utilizing her vast assortment of offensive skills to contribute in a variety of ways. The Guyer point forward made high-IQ passes and displayed excellent scoring versatility. She finished the break, scored off of dribble penetration, and knocked down a pair of mid-range shots with her smooth jumper, finishing with 14 points. TCU is getting a polished player who will be ready to play day one next season.
Haley Allen Haley Allen 5'7" | SG Lewisville | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 5’7’’ Shooting Guard | Lewisville HS – Allen is great at playing away from the ball. Her off ball movement is outstanding. She is pretty good with the ball in her hands as well. The senior guard can create for herself off the bounce, evidenced by a brilliant baseline drive and finish vs. Coppell on Friday. Beyond that, Allen is willing to make the extra pass and makes quick decisions as a distributor.
Cierra Trigg | 2021 | 5’8’’ Shooting Guard | Allen HS – Trigg was Allen’s leading scorer vs. Guyer, accounting for 10 points on Tuesday. The UTD commit was rewarded for her aggressiveness with numerous trips to the foul line, hitting eight of her nine free throw attempts. She also showed that she can finish through contact after going coast-to-coast and utilizing a good-looking euro step to get around her defender, finishing with a scoop shoot from a tough angle.
