We will evaluate their games and we hope you will enjoy this edition of the Prep Girls Hoops rankings right before the high school season starts. With the pandemic plaguing all of the United States it is a much needed gesture for the CIFSS to allow the kids to play. These evaluations are credited to the collective of writers on this website.
2023, 5’5, PG, Crossroads HS, Queen Ruffin Queen Ruffin 5'5" | PG Crossroads HS | 2023 State CA – Ruffin is a solid scoring guard. She’s a crafty ball-handler and she can attack the defense off the dribble. She’s very quick and strong and can blow past defenders. She can finish through contact in the paint. Pushes the pace well on the break. She’s a solid three-point shooter; good catch and shoot with a quick release.
2023, 5’4, PG, Christian HS, KoKo Akridge KoKo Akridge 5'4" | PG Christian HS | 2023 State CA – Quick and dynamic point guard in the open floor, can get to the rim with ease with her speed and agility, but is a terror in the open floor trying to stop her from getting paint touches. She is confident, she has a high IQ for the game and will be an asset to the program she chooses to play for this spring and summer without high school playing. She can shoot the midrange, she can shoot the three ball, but her passes and the ability to rebound and push the break is a game changer for her.
2023, 5’9, CG, Mater Dei HS, Corin Killian Corin Killian 5'9" | CG Mater Dei HS | 2023 State CA – Killian is a nice young guard with upside for the Monarchs. She’s a solid ball-handler and makes some good reads for a young player. Able to shoot it from the midrange and from the three-point line. Can hit that one to two dribble pull-up jumper. She can also put the ball on the floor, turn on the jets and get past her defender to the rim. Looks like a player to watch for the future.
