I was able to follow the event on social media, and here’s a look at some of the top standouts from the event.
1. Hannah Stines Hannah Stines 5'9" | SG Troy HS | 2022 State CA – Orangewood Academy 2022
I’ve seen Stines play multiple times and what’s really stood out to this point is her ability to create offense and get good shots for herself or for teammates. She’s really developed a nice little fadeaway jumper and can shoot over most defenders with her height/length. She’s very comfortable with the ball in her hands and being a playmaking wing.
2. Harper Peterson – Whitney 2024
Peterson is a young player that has some high upside. She can be a scoring wing and she makes good decisions with the ball in her hands. Confident player who is patient and doesn’t force the issue. Good shooter from three-point range who can move well without the ball and get herself open. Solid player in transition who gets out and can finish strong at the rim. Good length defensively.
3. Amaya Fuentes Amaya Fuentes 6'4" | C Ventura HS | 2022 State CA – Ventura 2022
I first saw Fuentes play about a year ago as a sophomore and while she was still a work in progress, she clearly had the skills to become a strong post player. Now, she looks very comfortable scoring in the paint. She has good hands and finishes well over the defense. Good in the pick and roll setting screens and rolling to the rim. She keeps the ball high and immediately looks to score. Good rebounder.
