South Dakota 2024 Rankings
The South Dakota 2024 class is LOADED with talent! I don’t know how to be more clear in this statement, as in the opinion of PGH Dakotas, the 2024 class is the best in the state. The top-end talent consists of Division 1 prospects, with a good mix of height, speed, and skilled prospects. The 2024 class got a huge boost when #1 prospect Katie Vasecka Katie Vasecka 6'2" | CG Tea Area | 2024 State SD transferred from Minnesota to Class A team, Tea Area. The top 4 prospects could essentially be arranged in any order, as they are very close and offer a variety of positions and skill-sets. The 2024 class consists of highly skilled point guards ( Mahli Abdouch Mahli Abdouch 5'7" | PG O'Gorman | 2024 State SD ), wings ( Claire Sheppard Claire Sheppard 6'1" | SF Flandreau | 2024 State SD ), and posts ( Jaidyn Dunn Jaidyn Dunn 6'1" | PF Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2024 State SD ). If you’re a college program in South Dakota and in the region, the 2024 class is exciting and the prospects are hot commodities.
The remaining prospects after the top 20 or so will be further analyzed in the coming years as the 2024 class prospects will be thrusted into more prominent varsity roles. The prospects will be easier to evaluate and the rankings will be more clear and accurate. As of now, these can be taken with a grain of salt, and this summer, as the prospects compete against each other, will give a more precise evaluation. What’s better than seeing prospects in the same class, competing on the same court? The prospects that compete in the grassroots season can be taken more seriously by college programs, as it shows a commitment and love for the game. Stay tuned for the next update as prospects will be added and moved around. Since the state tournaments have concluded, PGH Dakotas will go back and evaluate and analyze film of the entire high school season as well as the upcoming grassroots season.
