Let’s take a deeper look here at why these five sharpshooter shooting guards are out on the perimeter doing what they do best, that is, putting up points on the board and scoring at will.
- Madison Camden Madison Camden 5'8" | SG Glenwood | 2022 State IA , 5’8, SG, Glenwood, 2022
–Madison is a kid that is a flat out scorer. She does the majority of her damage behind the arc letting the 3 balls reign possession after possession after possession. She can produce these shots in a hurry and consecutively, while displaying some deep range. Her catch and shot motion is very fluid, and is all in one motion which makes her a very consistent shooter. She can also take her defender off the dribble and can hit the mid-range jumper in the lane. I like her aggressiveness to also drive to the basket and finish at the rim. Madison can finish with both hands, and can finish in a variety of ways. She displays the ability to be a great defender as well, and can create havoc for opposing teams. She can get her hands on passes, and can pick up many steals. Her size at 5’8 gives her that little extra height. Her ball handling skills are adept, which makes it easy for her to drive to the basket against defenders. Her court vision is good, and she makes some nice great passes to teammates. Expect her to make it a priority to stand out this summer with the Team Factory team this 2021 AAU season. Enjoy!
2. Alexis Pingel Alexis Pingel 5'7" | SG Cherokee | 2022 State IA , 5’7, SG, Cherokee, 2022
–Alexis is another off guard that can score at will. Her aggressive mentality to rack up the points in a variety of ways makes her a fun player to watch. She can finish at the rim with both hands, while having the capability to finish against taller defenders and with a hand in her face. Her 3-point shot is very good, and she has a nice stroke. She can also take her defender off the bounce and pull up for two in the lane. A very effective player out on the wing that can cause damage for opposing defenses. Alexis displays the ability to be a great passer and has a good feel for the game. Her tenacity on the defensive end is evident, and she can utilize her athleticism by getting many steals and tips on balls. Expect her to up her stock this summer with the United Sports Academy team this 2021 AAU season. Enjoy!
3. Anna Sandvold Anna Sandvold 5'7" | SG Cedar Falls | 2022 State IA , 5’7, SG, Cedar Falls, 2022
–Anna is a combo guard that is suited perfectly on the wing. She has a quick release on her 3-point shot, and it’s very pure. This kid can pile them up from behind the arc. She displays the ability to utilize her ball handling skills and can also get to the rim. She can finish with both hands as well. Anna has some length to her, so it is not uncommon to see her block some shots every now and then. I like her aggressivenes on the boards as well. This is a kid that has a lot to offer, and can become a tremendous overall player as a shooting guard. Her passion and energy is what stood out to me right away, and is contagious for the people surrounding her. This establishes a driven and competitive atmosphere for all members of the team to be in, which results in success. So it is very clear to me she has great leadership skills and can lead a team. Expect her to come out with a bang this summer with the Iowa Prep team this 2021 AAU season. Enjoy!
4. Ella Lampe Ella Lampe 5'7" | SG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2022 State IA , 5’7, SG, Dallas Center-Grimes, 2022
–Ella is a kid that has tremendous upside and potential as a 2 guard. She has a good all around game, and can score in a variety of ways. She is a great 3-point shooter, and has a nice stroke. She definitely has the talent to put up a lot more points next season, and to really show people what she is capable of doing on the offensive end. Ella displays the ability to get to hoop, and finish with both hands. She dishes out some good passes to her teammates too. Her aggressiveness is very obvious, and she plays with the same energy on both ends of the floor. I like her quick hands and her capability to pick up the steals.
