The last semester for the Class of 2021 is starting to wind down, and with that said, the Spring rankings updates serve as our final look at the class as a whole. Our Top-250 is now home to 47 point guard prospects, and there are still a handful of quality prospects who remain uncommitted at this time. There are athletes, scorers, shooters, and game managers. Below is a look at those 47 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of uncommitted girls from this position group. Surely between now and graduation, a few colleges will benefit from commitments by some of them.
Top Uncommitted Point Guards
1. Courtney Blakely Courtney Blakely 5'7" | PG Hammond Bishop Noll | 2021 State IN , Bishop Noll Institute – Courtney led the state in scoring this year at 31.7 points per game, but if you watch her in an environment like the Senior Top-60 Showcase, you notice that she is just a playmaker and is a willing facilitator. She is definitely a scorer at heart, and she can fill it up with range well-beyond the arc. But she does a nice job of using her athletic frame to get into defenses and find open teammates. Courtney holds several Division-I offers, and I’d anticipate her making a decision fairly soon.
2. Courtney Fields Courtney Fields 5'7" | PG Cathedral | 2021 State IN , Cathedral H.S. – This Courtney has always been a tremendously quick, fast, and athletic prospect. She is explosive in most directions, and she looks stronger than a year ago and is able to absorb contact a lot better when attacking the basket. She likes to make plays for others, plus she can knock down an open jumper. She’ll need to continue working on changing speeds for the next level, but she definitely has talent, plus she can be a real pest defensively.
3. Brooklyn Stubblefield Brooklyn Stubblefield 5'6" | PG Greenwood Christian | 2021 State IN , Greenwood Christian Academy – Brooklyn was an outstanding new addition to the Cougar lineup this year. She ended up as their second leading scorer, and she was just a playmaker all over the floor. She is a quick/fast creator offensively, and she can score it at all three levels or find teammates. She too could stand to change speeds a little more often, but she always plays with a motor. Defensively, she creates turnovers, whether she’s on or off the ball.
4. Indiah Kendrick Indiah Kendrick 5'6" | PG Avon | 2021 State IN , Avon H.S. – Indiah has started for parts of the last three years at Avon, and she’s a nice little guard with that water-bug effect. She has really good length for her height, she has nice quickness, and she can be feisty at times, especially defending the ball. She is a pass-first kid offensively, but her ability to make shots has certainly improved over the last four years. I think her immediate value at the next level will be defensively, but she has really nice talent and upside.
5. Jasney Combs Jasney Combs 5'6" | CG Fort Wayne South Side | 2021 State IN , Fort Wayne South Side H.S. – Jasney has spent much of her career playing alongside and behind several talented guards, a couple of which who are Division-I players/prospects. But don’t let that fool you, as Jasney herself can play. She has a nice shiftiness to her, some speed and quickness, and she is looking to set up teammates when she’s on the ball. Off the ball, she is more of an attacker than a shooter, but her perimeter shooting has improved. She also plays with a nice motor.
Additional Uncommitted Point Guards Who Stand Out
Cailynn Dilosa Cailynn Dilosa 5'2" | PG Merrillville | 2021 State IN , Merrillville H.S. – Cailynn is an extremely quick, fast, and explosive guard, almost with track star type qualities. She is a blur in transition, and she can be a terror defensively. She has really improved the last couple of seasons, and I think she can be a really nice steal for some small college who takes a chance on her, because she has tremendous physical talent.
Micah Jett Micah Jett 5'5" | CG Ben Davis | 2021 State IN , Ben Davis H.S. – Micah has seen Varsity minutes here and there since her Freshman year, and I think she’s one of the more under-recruited small college prospects in this class. She is a really nice athlete, with strength and toughness, but she plays with a steady, efficient pace. She can handle it and manage a team, she can make an open shot outside, plus she’s a high-level defender.
Torri Miller Torri Miller 5'2" | PG Merrillville | 2021 State IN , Merrillville H.S. – Torri has been the more traditional point guard for the Pirates over the course of her career. She has solid strength at her size, she’s fairly quick (more quick than fast), and she plays with a nice motor. She is a playmaker for others, but she can knock down an outside shot, plus she is a nice anticipatory defender. I think she has really nice, true point guard qualities to her game.
Emma O’Brien Emma O’Brien 5'5" | CG Morgan Township | 2021 State IN , Morgan Township H.S. – Emma has always been a nice basketball player, but her game really took off once she grew and gained more strength. She is long, fluid, and somewhat smooth. She is a very good perimeter shooter with solid range. On the ball, she is more of a game manager and facilitator than a true creator, but she has a nice handle and makes smart decisions.
Courtney Williams Courtney Williams 5'4" | PG North Central (Farmersburg) | 2021 State IN , North Central H.S. (Farmersburg) – Courtney is a solid ballplayer who unfortunately missed much of this season with an injury. Once she returned, she was effective, but she was still finding her footing. She has always been a dangerous shooter with range. But she is an efficient point guard as well, who runs offense, finds open teammates, and is a disciplined defender.
