Continue ReadingIt is now time to take a look at five stock risers in the Class of 2022 who are dominant in the paint, make a living on the boards, and can be a total nightmare on both ends of the floor as forwards. These five kids will be playing their final AAU season this summer, and will be making it a main priority to play to the best of their ability every minute of every game. They want to stand out and seperate themselves from the crowd; as they have the talent, ability, and stats to back up their goals, mission, and vision. Let’s dig a little deeper now, dive into these five big’s basketball skills, and take a look at what they have to offer.
- Riley Moreland Riley Moreland 5'11" | PF MFL-Mar-Mac | 2022 State IA , 5’11, F, MFL-Mar-Mac, 2022
–Riley is a kid that is very athletic and smooth who should be getting tons of attention from high-level colleges. She has the full package in every dimension of the game. She has nice length and size, which allows her to be a lethal weapon on the inside as a big; however she has great guard skills as well to make her a very versatile player on the wing. Her athletic ability is what caught my attention right away, and her wing-span is incredible. She has long arms, and uses them to her advantage to get into passing lanes and to create severe disruption on defense. On the offensive end, she utilizes a variety of post moves; and is a tremendous finisher at the rim. I love her 3-point shot, as she can hit them with a hand in her face; while having a quick release. She can also take her defender off the dribble and pull up for two in the lane. She also runs the floor well, and can finish the fastbreak in transition. Her ball handling skills are adept as well. Riley can also finish at the rim with both hands, and has the ability to get numerous AND 1’s. She is a monster on the boards too, while racking up several of them each game. She can also tally up the blocks too. Expect her to show out this 2021 AAU season with the Lady Martin Brothers team. Enjoy!
2. Delaynie Luneckas Delaynie Luneckas 6'2" | PF West Branch | 2022 State IA , 6’2, F, West Branch, 2022
–Delaynie is a kid that has the capability to become an elite level player at a high-level college. She is a skilled, lanky forward that can shoot the basketball at every spot on the floor. As an inside player, she can cause havoc by creating many opportunities for herself. Her effort on both ends of the floor is very evident. I believe that her scoring average will increase tremendously next season, and she definitely has the ability to be the leading scorer on her team. She definitely needs to look to be more aggressive, as with her talent and size, she can easily be putting up some bigger numbers. I like her mid-range shot as well. Delaynie also is a force on the boards and can block drives and shots with her long arms. Her passion for the game is evident as well. Expect to see major things out of her this 2021 AAU season with the Lady Martin Brothers team. Enjoy!
3. Brooke Woodyard Brooke Woodyard 6'0" | PF Southeast Polk | 2022 State IA , 6’0, F, Southeast Polk, 2022
–Brooke is a kid that is no doubt a handful down low. She is a huge presence as a big inside, and can rack up the buckets time after time. Brooke has the potential to be a high-level college player as well, and will only be getting better as her career goes on. Her height frame at 6’0 provides her with several opportunities to be a top-notch scorer. She has loads of natural talent, and this is very clear to me. She has a good feel for the game as well. She has a mixture of post moves up her sleeve that she utilizes on a consistent basis. Her aggression and tenacity makes it easy for her to get the AND 1’s and get that trip to the free throw line. I love her energy she provides on the court, and this surely rubs off on the whole team and program. Another effective rebounder, she can rack up several rebounds on both ends of the floor too. I like her athleticism, and she does a great job of running the floor. She can also shoot the 3 ball, and has a good stroke. Expect her to raise her stock this 2021 AAU season with the All Iowa Attack team. Enjoy!
4. Katelyn Lappe Katelyn Lappe 5'10" | PF Bondurant-Farrar | 2022 State IA , 5’10, F, Bondurant-Farrar, 2022
–Katelyn is a kid that is extremely physical on the inside as a big. She has tremendous upside, and can blossom into a high level collegiate player as well. She has decent size, however, she would be a little undersized as a post at a high level college. She definitely makes up for it with strength, athleticism, and talent. I love her energy and passion for the game. Her efficiency is off the charts, as she has a huge impact in every statistical category. She put up a double-double this recent high school season, and was a total mammoth rebounding the basketball on both ends of the floor. I can tell she has that natural aggressive mentality, and is always wanting to get the ball wherever she is on the court. Katelyn utilizes some good post moves too, and can finish at the rim well. It is not uncommon to see her shoot the 3 ball, as she can step out there and knock some down. She will not be playing AAU ball this season, however, look for her to come out with a bang her senior year next season and turn some heads. Enjoy!
5. Lauren Wilson Lauren Wilson 5'11" | PF Springville | 2022 State IA , 5’11, F, Springville, 2022
–Lauren is a kid that has the potential to be a top scorer in a high level collegiate program, and has opened many people’s eyes in recent seasons. She has become an elite post player that has had a big impact on both ends of the floor. She will continue to tag team it up this summer on the All Iowa Attack team with fellow teammate Brooke Woodyard Brooke Woodyard 6'0" | PF Southeast Polk | 2022 State IA . Lauren is another strong, physical presence on the inside that can create tons of damage scoring the basketball. Her ability to be a high-level scorer, and to match those numbers in the rebounding category and also be an elite rebounder is simply amazing. She is another player that put up a double-double this recent high school season. She can cause a lot of havoc for opposing teams by utilizing a variety of post moves and finishing shots, can rebound and block shots, and can also use her length by creating problems in the lane for opposing guards driving to the basket. She has good foundational knowledge of the game, and has a high basketball IQ. Expect her to continue to put up the numbers and prove why she deserves more interest this 2021 AAU season with the All Iowa Attack team. Enjoy!
