They deserve to be getting a ton of credit, glory, and recognition as they possess the capability to be dominant shooters, finishers at the basket, passers, etc. Each of them have a tremendous upside, and have the potential to be big time players as years go on. With their versatility, the sky is truly the limit. Let’s check them out and see what each of them brings to the table.
- Lauren Blake Lauren Blake 5'11" | SF Indianola | 2022 State IA , 5’11, W, Indianola, 2022
–Lauren is a kid who has the potential to be an unstoppable offensive threat at any level of college basketball. She has great size at 5’11, which can assist her in having a serious impact on the perimeter. Her knack to get in the lane and finish at the rim with both hands is very impressive. She has a good shot, and can shoot the 3 ball with consistency. I love her aggressiveness, and her energy is very evident as well. One thing that stood out to me right away was her unselfishness to get her teammates involved and get dimes out to them. She displays the ability to have a high basketball IQ and good feel for the game, and her passing skills are superb. With that being said, she has the capability to slide over to the point guard position and run the show too. This is a dream player for every coach out there, as she can play the 1-4 positions; and this shows how versatile she can be. Comparisons can quickly be made to her and Marion HS 2021 graduate Riley Wright Riley Wright 5'10" | SF Marion | 2021 State IA , who is headed off to the University of Northern Iowa this Fall in 2021. They both have that same high-level talent, same length, and can create lasting opportunities for themselves driving to the basket. Expect her to make a name for herself this 2021 AAU season with the Lady Pure Prep team. Enjoy!
2. Meg Rietz Meg Rietz 5'10" | SF Ballard | 2022 State IA , 5’10, W, Ballard, 2022
–Meg is a kid that also has a marvelous all-around game and can hurt you in various ways. She likes the 3-point shot, and can surely pile them up in a hurry. She’s a lefty, but can also cause a lot of havoc going right. An aggressive player that is a great finisher at the rim with both hands, while also being able to utlilize several finishes at the hoop to make her a dominant slasher. She is also very dynamic in terms of her passing ability. She does a great job of drawing defenders to her and then kicking it out or over to a teammate for an open shot. She has the potential to be an elite scorer, so definitely look to see her scoring average drastically soar up next season. I like her tenacity on the defensive end, and it is not uncommon to see her block some shots every now and then. She can also be unstoppable on the boards too. Displays some decent size at 5’10 too. Expect her to show out this 2021 AAU season with the CY Select team. Enjoy!
3. Abigail Jones Abigail Jones 6'2" | SF Waukee | 2022 State IA , 6’2, W, Waukee, 2022
–Abigail is a long, lean, lanky wing that could be a pivtoal presence out on the perimeter, or could be just as dominant in the lane as an inside player. With her incredible 3-point shooting ability, she can easily be a lethal wing as years go on. However, she also has the versatility to be a tremendous big too. Her size and length are very beneficial. She can cause some serious havoc for opposing teams on the defensive end, as she can get her long arms on many drives and shots. She should definitely look to be more aggressive on the offensive end, as she has the ability to put up higher numbers next season. Expect her to make some noise this 2021 AAU season with the All Iowa Attack team. Enjoy!
4. Cleao Murray Cleao Murray 5'8" | SF Ankeny Centennial | 2022 State IA , 5’8, W, Ankeny Centennial, 2022
–Cleao is a kid with a scoring mentality who can definitely make things happen on the offensive end. She can score at will, and she creates a lot of opportunities for herself driving to the rim. She can finish with both hands, and her aggressiveness is outstanding. She definitely makes it look easy. She also is a great 3-point shooter and has a good shot. She has excellent athleticism, and can pick up the steals on the defensive end. She also has the potential to raise her scoring average next season, and can be a main scoring threat. Expect her to elevate her stock this 2021 AAU season with the All Iowa Attack team. Enjoy!
5. Reagan Bartholomew Reagan Bartholomew 5'10" | SF Waukee | 2022 State IA , 5’10, W, Waukee, 2022
–Reagan is a kid with a lot of innate talent. That is very evident right after seeing her play for a couple of possessions. She is definitely underrated. This wing can produce points in a variety of ways, and can be a nightmare for opposing teams. She has a great shot behind the 3-point line, and it’s as pure as can be. She runs the floor well, and has some nice athleticism. Her finishing ability is incredible, and she has the capability to finish some tricky and unusual drives with both hands. I like her aggressiveness on both ends of the floor as well. Her size at 5’10 can be used to her advantage, and will make it easy for her to do a lot of damage on the wing. Continue to see her better her game and become a big-time scorer. Big things in store in years to come for her. Expect her to leave a mark this 2021 AAU season with the All Iowa Attack team. Enjoy!
