Below is a list of players who stood out for their ability to make the right play for their team. This weekend was stacked with talent all across the board; players showing they can score and defend at a high level. The players below showed all of that and then some. Being able to make an impact through the ability to PASS the ball makes for an elite prospect.
Take a look at the players who showed high basketball IQ, smart decision making, and the ability to find their teammates open for the bucket!
Mckenna Murphy | Nebraska Attack
A super quick lefty who did a tremendous job getting her teammates involved this weekend. Impressive court vision. A great feel for the game was shown through her movement without the ball, Murphy was a key piece to this team’s success.
Kaylee Bures | Nebraska Attack
A sniper from behind the arc, Bures showed glimpses of how elite she can be from deep. A quick release and ability to get herself open. Bures isn’t a player that is going to put up a bunch of shot attempts each game. She remained consistent throughout the tournament and did well working her shot into the offense. She screens well and moves well without the ball which is often difficult for a lead guard to do. High upside player.
Ansley Hicks | FBC Nightmares Teal
A scrappy guard with a great motor, Hicks is efficient on both ends of the court. Defensively she’s in your face, a high-pressure defender that can go the length of the court. Offensively she can score with consistency in the midrange and create for herself off the dribble and create for her teammates. Her quick first step often grabs the attention of other defenders making the dish almost effortless to the open man.
Avree Antony | Let It Rain
Antony continues to turn heads with her high level of play on both ends of the court. Always impressed by her 2-way play. She’s scrappy and not afraid of contact. As quickly as Antony is getting to the rim, she does a great job of composing which has helped her be able to make the right pass rather than force the shot.
Isabelle Blocker | SD attack 2025
Another SD Attack kid with a high basketball IQ, Blocker has a good motor and ability to finish coast to coast at her own pace. Consistent scorer for this team, she can be looked for to make the right play at the right time. Her decision-making this weekend was impressive. She reads the defense well and has the ability to handle the ball under pressure and make the right pass.
Presley Estrada | Lady Martin Brothers
A hard-working guard who showed a lot of versatility this weekend in Iowa. Great on and off-ball movement for her team. She cuts hard and saw a lot of shot opportunities through her ability to get herself and her teammates open within the offense. Her passing in transition was exceptional. She keeps her eyes up and plays at a good tempo that keeps her aggressive yet controlled.
Aubrey Miller | Lady Martin Brothers
Miller stood out for her athleticism and ability to score the ball inside and out at a high level. She was scrappy for the boards. Miller was running the floor in transition which is always fun to see. An impressive feel for the game, Miller could put up big numbers for this team.
Lucy Scott | Team Factory 2024 National
A clear leader for this squad, Scott showed great upside this weekend in Iowa. She works really hard on the floor and it shows in how effortlessly she’s able to get herself open and create space. A pure competitor on the floor, Scott is the type of player that will do whatever it takes to get the open bucket! This is key to being a successful facilitator- she doesn’t care who gets the bucket- as long as the team gets it! Really like her versatility as a two-way standout as well.
