2021, 6’3, SF, Mater Dei HS, Brooke Demetre Brooke Demetre 6'3" | SF Mater Dei | 2021 State #5 Nation CA – Brooke showed her whole package last night in this game, she gave you the drives to the basket, post ups, midrange and three pointer. I understand why she is going to Stanford University, she is definitely (PAC12) by the way she displayed her game package to the audience. If this was your first time watching her play, man you should be saying, “That girl is a Killer on the court”. She had to have a double double, cause she owned the boards and she was scoring at will last night, absolutely amazing…. Was also the CIFSS Open GBB Championship MVP. No questions asked about that title, she deserved it whole heartedly. She ended the game with 25pts.
2021, 5’8, SG, Mater Dei HS, Alyssa Frescas Alyssa Frescas 5'8" | SG Mater Dei | 2021 State CA – Alyssa had a decent game last night, she hit a big three pointer in the second half of the game to give her team a lead. She defended well, taking on Londynn Jones Londynn Jones 5'5" | PG Santiago | 2022 State #9 Nation CA and Jayda Curry Jayda Curry 5'6" | PG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA a bit in this game, proved to be a good effort for her. She led the team down the stretches with some key steals and some good passing, she was the passer that hit Nalani White for the game winning three pointer. Alyssa came thru for her team in the OT, she played tough defense and made the right decisions to keep her team in the position to win last night. She ended the game with 12pts.
2022, 5’11, SG, Mater Dei HS, Nalani White – Nalani was fun to watch last night as well, she made some good plays on the court by defending and making some tough moves to the rim. She was an able defender, she was a good passer and she has amazing timing when it comes to blocked shots. She was the player that hit the winning shot to capture the CIFSS Open GBB Championship last night and we knew it was going down when it left her hands. She had her feet set and she broke that wrist and splash, the game was over and she was being chased and hugged by her teammates. She ended the game with 17pts.
2022, 5’5, PG, Mater Dei HS, Caia Elisaldez Caia Elisaldez 5'5" | PG Mater Dei HS | 2023 State CA – Caia managed the game like a good point guard should do, she was calm and collected and kept the pressure on the defensive side of the floor. She defended well and kept her defensive opponent away from the basket and kept a hand in the face of the shooters. Her handle is pretty good on the floor and she was a great passer, but the one thing that stood out was her in and out attack dribble, loved it. I would love to see her go left a little more, but she was able to get to the rim and finish thru contact as well. Did not show me the three pointer in this game, but I think she hit one of them, she ended the game with 16pts.
2021, 5’7, PG/CG, Corona Centennial HS, Jayda Curry Jayda Curry 5'6" | PG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA – Jayda had a tough game last night, she still ended the game with 22pts, but her feel for the game last night was a little off. Jayda is a competitor thru and thru and she is gonna play hard and try to make it happen for her team no matter what. She shot the ball decent this night, got to the rim and drew a couple of charges on the floor. She shot 10 of 10 from the free throw line last night and she made some of them at the crucial time when her team needed the scoring. Jayda is also a (PAC12) athlete, she signed with Cal Berkeley University.
2022, 5’4, PG/CG, Corona Centennial HS, Londynn Jones Londynn Jones 5'5" | PG Santiago | 2022 State #9 Nation CA – Londynn was special last night, she showed out on every possession on the court, she showed her defensive ability, she showed her offensive skills and led her team thru the game. She shot the ball well from three land and got to the rim for finishes thru contact, which allowed her team to get points from the free-throw line. Londynn is also another (PAC12) player being signed with UCLA and you can see why if you were at the game last night. She ended the game with 27pts on the night.
2022, 5’9, SF, Corona Centennial HS, Layla Curry Layla Curry 5'9" | SG Corona Centennial | 2022 State CA – Layla was a beast last night on the boards, getting to the rim and defending Brooke Demetre Brooke Demetre 6'3" | SF Mater Dei | 2021 State #5 Nation CA in the post. She scored at the rim and she shot the midrange pretty well, helping her team to maintain the lead for the four quarters of the game, until the OT period. She was a firecracker, she kept her team in it, every time Mater Dei would make a push to get back into the game, Layla would make a play for her team to keep them up. I would of definitely made her Co-MVP of the game for Corona Centennial with Londynn Jones Londynn Jones 5'5" | PG Santiago | 2022 State #9 Nation CA , both were phenomenal last night. Layla ended the game with 17pts.
