’24 Rankings Update: Stock Risers
In this article:
As we inch closer to July, a few prospects have been playing well of late who I believe can be very impactful this summer. Here are a few players whose stock has risen over the past month and will continue to rise moving forward.
Maddie Fitzpatrick Maddie Fitzpatrick 5'10" | CG Cheverus High | 2024 State NewE – Maine Firecrackers/Cheverus – 5’10 – CG
’24 Rank: #8
Fitzpatrick is an absolute beast. I 100% believe that she can be a top 5 caliber player by the fall because of her size and skill. Fitzpatrick handles the ball, is an excellent three-point shooter, a monster defensively, and rebounds at a high level too. She has the athleticism, IQ, and discipline to be in the conversation for best defender in the class. I have not seen anyone close out on shooters better than Fitzpatrick. She is always under control, gets out to shooters, and doesn’t bite on pump fakes while showing the lateral quickness to stay in front of smaller guards and wings. Possessing the upper body strength to bang down low makes Fitzpatrick the most versatile guard amongst her peers. I thought she had a monster weekend at the Hoop Group Pennsylvania Showcase 2 weeks ago and is trending up as the year progresses.
Ella Flanagan Ella Flanagan 5'10" | SF St. Mark's | 2024 State NewE – Mass Mavericks/St. Mark’s – 5’10’’- SG/SF
’24 Rank: #18
Flanagan will be vital for the Mass Mavericks, with Leanne Wydom Leanne Wydom 5'11" | PF Marlboro | 2022 State NewE going down with an injury. She is a versatile wing that you can be a reliable spot-up shooter and also has the skills and basketball IQ to be a playmaker in the high post. Flanagan is a willing passer who understands floor spacing and makes intelligent decisions with the ball. She is most impactful on the offensive glass, consistently securing second and third scoring chances for the Mavericks. Her ability to open up the floor for the Mavericks slashing guards with her long-distance sniping, along with being capable of scoring off the bounce, can elevate her into the top 15 easily.

Dani Ceseretti Dani Ceseretti 6'0" | PG Northfield Mt. Hermon | 2024 State NewE – Bay State Jaguars/Northfield Mt. Hermon – 5’11’’ – PG
’24 Rank: #19
Ceseretti appeared on my radar late in the spring, and she immediately flashed. She stood out like a weed in the grass with her 5’11’’ athletic frame and crafty ball handling. Good luck to whoever draws the assignment to guard her because Ceseretti has a dozen tricks up her sleeve to score on you. She is equally as effective getting to the rim with her right and left hand, controls the tempo, and can shoot from the outside. Ceseretti sees the floor beautifully and is not lazy when throwing passes. The velocity and touch on her passes are incredible, and she makes it look easy because, at her height, Ceseretti can see right over the defense. Ceseretti smothers opposing guards on defense, and she makes it impossible for ball-handlers to get around her. With her defensive instincts and pickpocketing capability being top-notch, Ceseretti is developing into an excellent two-way player.

Reese Bartlett Reese Bartlett 5'9" | CG Bridgewater-Raynham | 2024 State NewE – Bay State Jaguars/Bridgewater Raynham – 5’10’’ – CG
’24 Rank: #30
Bartlett is one of the toughest players in the ’24 class, both mentally and physically. A big indication that an athlete is tough, especially when they are a guard, is to watch their activity on the defensive end. Bartlett will guard anyone on the court. If switched on to a bigger forward, she accepts the challenge and competes hard to win that matchup. Bartlett is also a strong rebounder who is not afraid to be physical and battle down low. She is a great perimeter shooter, but I like how she utilizes the mid-range to be effective on offense. Bartlett times her cuts well, and receiving the ball 10-15 feet from the basket will consistently showcase a smooth stroke from that range. Bartlett and Dani Ceseretti Dani Ceseretti 6'0" | PG Northfield Mt. Hermon | 2024 State NewE will be a fun backcourt to keep an eye on next month.

Madison Pepra-Omani Madison Pepra-Omani 5'6" | PG Manchester Memorial | 2024 State NewE – BDS/Manchester Memorial High – 5’6’’ – PG
’24 Rank: #45
Pepra-Omani is a brilliant scorer who can get a bucket on the defense with ease. She shoots with a ton of confidence when contested off the dribble and is unfazed by pressure. Her playmaking and craftiness in transition stand out because she changes speed and direction seamlessly while staying under control. Pepra-Omani is a strong point guard who is excellent at initiating and finishing through contact but also has good court vision and moves the ball well on offense. Pepra-Omani has a super high ceiling because of her skill set, and a consistent July can have her in the top 25, if not higher.
