Jillian Torres ( DC Queens Black SA) 2022
Torres put on one of the best individual scoring performances I have seen against other next-level players this season. She attacked from everywhere, finished acrobatically., many times after contact yet she creates her shot so smoothly while being guarded and she understands when and where to take it from, usually anywhere on her side of midcourt so yes, the mid to long-range was clicking, so were her assists
Mia Thomas (Houston Queens 17U) 2022
Thomas doesn’t crack a smile on the court, she’s all business and she gives defenders the business but watching her set them up and elevate over taller players from multiple spots on the court, including BTA is something to see because she has a nice first step and can drop step back, shoot the stop and pop or take defenders off the dribble but her handling of the ball is also a very good asset as she can blaze passes on the money for assists
Jada West (San Antonio Lady Hoops Platinum) 2022
West put on, how can I put this, “you can’t stop me” performance as she used her 6’1 height and college ready body very well, averaging a double-double for the event. She’s strong, she rebounds that way and is finishing that way but she’s also running the floor and defending not only inside the paint but outside of it as well. I had seen her show signs of this coming throughout her career but she’s doing it more consistently
Aryanna Cleveland (San Antonio Lady Hoops Green) 2022
Cleveland does something I haven’t seen many do on this side and that is she has a legitimate turnaround jumper and legitimizes it is not only accuracy but she can do it inside the paint or on the block. She’s long and VERY athletic, I guess the turnaround gave it away and she has UPS so seeing her elevate over taller players to finish on the offensive end, rebound, and get putbacks gets me going because her energy level stays the same throughout the game, she rebounds on the defensive end as well
Alyssa Batton (CE Elite 2023) 2023
Batton is having the baton passed to her as a long ball shooter that can drop in the clutch, yeah my play on words game is still stronger but her play on the court is stronger, and seeing her just take over down the stretch, in multiple events, in multiple settings, even across state lines, one thing remains constant, she can score while being defended and pressured hard but she also can score in the flow, which is equally impressive
