Darianna Littlepage-Buggs Darianna Littlepage-Buggs 6'1" | SF Classen SAS | 2022 State #24 Nation OK -6’1 SF (Mavs Elite)
Buggs was one of the most dominant players at the event and watching her just take over games was really impressive, she did it from both ends. All I wrote was #BEAST as her ferocity on the boards just sold me, well so did her finishes, especially after contact and she defends in the paint and in the open court
Jordan Harrison Jordan Harrison 5'5" | PG Classen SAS | 2022 State OK (Mavs Elite)
Harrison attacked the rim with ease, she has a very nice first step yet she also has a very nice step back and her mid to long-range was clicking as she kept defenders guessing. Watching her create her shot under pressure was nice, so was observing her court vision as she hit teammates on the money in tight situations
Smalls Goudeau Smalls Goudeau 5'9" | CG Tahlequah Sequoyah | 2022 State OK -5’9 CG (Shock Black)
Goudeau’s nickname is Smalls, name is Alexsyah yet she plays big so Biggie Smalls had several hits, she was a hit the first time I saw her playing in San Antonio and to this day, every time I see her, she gives everything, and yeah, she’s a “you won’t outwork me player” she also plays within herself and is a double-double waiting to happen. She scores off the dribble, hits the jumper, defends, and rebounds on both ends
Maggie Sockey Maggie Sockey 5'9" | CG Crowder | 2022 State OK -5’9 G (Shock Black)
Sockey has UPS by her name and it has nothing to do with delivering parcels yet she delivers in many other ways as she elevates over defenders to score in the paint, or to get her shot off on the outside but that also works for rebounding and her on-ball defense was real
Carson Dillard-5’7 SG (Shock Gold)
Dillard is one of many shooters on this squad and I caught them more than any other team but she creates her shot under pressure and mixes it up nicely for the mid and very long-range jumper. She also showed a slight HEZ in the open court
Halyn Carmack-5’4 PG (Shock Gold)
Carmack is heady, did a good job seeing the floor and also scoring in the flow but her range just set it off for me as she dropped it with a hand in her face and showed she could “catch and shoot” with accuracy. That, as well as attacking and finishing was a nice mix
Morgan Borgstadt Morgan Borgstadt 5'11" | SF Verdigris | 2023 State OK -6’0 PG (Shock 2023)
Borgstadt left a definite lasting impression as I dissected her game even more. Yeah, I knew she was heady and played within herself, saw the floor, and could score but her range is very good, so is her scoring off the dribble with either hand, she also passes on the money, with either hand but her timing to block shots, wow
Carlee Casteel-5’7 SG (Shock 2023)
Casteel has a very good first step which enables her to do whatever she wants because either she can attack and give highlight finishes if you defend her too close or if you give her an inch, she can drop it from what seems like a mile. The midrange is also good yet what I really loved was watching her create contact for “and one” opportunities
Gracie Burckhartzmeyer-5’8 G (Shock 2024)
Burckhartzmeyer gets IT and by that I mean the simple things that become big sometimes have become a lost art, so watching her understand how to get positioning to rebound against taller players is what first grabbed me, then her ability to set the defender up to attack and finish, after contact
