My three W’s sum up how these players should be on many coaches radar’s, how efficient and effective each of them are on the court, as well as how easy it will be for them to take their game to the next level as they move higher up the ladder in their career. This will be their final summer to make their move, get their groove on, and prove to every coach what they are truly made of both as a player and person. Time has not run out, and there is a lot of daylight left for all 2022 players to show how skilled and talented they are. Let’s now get some pep in our step and check out some analysis reports, as well as some thrilling game film of these five prospects.
Brooklynn Smith Brooklynn Smith 6'3" | C Waterloo West | 2022 State IA , 6’3, C, Waterloo West, 2022
Brooklynn is a beast down low as a true big, and can cause some serious damage on both ends of the floor; most typically noting her defensive efficiency racking up the boards and blocking shots. What I like about her is her ability to have a complete impact on every spot on the floor. She can score, get some steals, rebound, and block shots time after time. Her capability to demolish and fill out the stat sheet in many categories makes her a high-level player who is playing the game of basketball the right way. She does not favor one side of the floor over the other, and this proves her leadership, attitude, work ethic, and mentality to do whatever it takes to win. A terrific prospect to keep your eyes on this summer.

Aree Beckmann Aree Beckmann 5'8" | SG Xavier | 2022 State IA , 5’8, G, CR Xavier, 2022
Aree is a pure shooting guard who is fundamentally sound. She is another player who has a total impact on the game and plays with a lot of passion day in and day out. She plays with a sense of urgency every possession, and is always finding ways to either make a play by scoring the basketball or dishing off a dime to a fellow teammate. She is fun to watch in the open court and transition; plays loose, and makes it happen. She is a solid offensive player and can score in a variety of ways, making the defense pay. I like her winning spirit and competitive drive she brings to the Saints and Lady Martin Brothers program, and I see this becoming a contagious asset as she gets to college. A great prospect to keep your eyes on this summer.

Meredith Rieker Meredith Rieker 5'10" | SG Valley | 2022 State IA , 5’10, G, WDM Valley, 2022
Shooter, shooter, and last but not least; one of the most glamorous sharpshooters I’ve covered all spring and summer. Meredith is a magnificent shooter, and has the quick release and range to go along with it. Her form is great, and shoots the ball very consistently. This kid right here should be getting a lot more stock, particularly from various DI universities. She can play at that level, and her offensive prowess would make her a dandy in many programs. She is also very versatile and has an overall tremendous game going. A dimension of her game that I noticed that stood out to me was her athletic ability. She can pick off the steals and has that natural and innate quickness and speed. She has some length and a wing span, so she can get her arms on high passes. A very gifted player with good upside. A phenomenal prospect to keep your eyes on this summer.

Lucy Schaffer Lucy Schaffer 5'7" | PG North Polk | 2022 State IA , 5’7, G, North Polk, 2022
Lucy is an elite athlete that brings some serious athleticism to the table. She uses her top-notch athletic ability to her advantage and creates easy buckets for herself because of it. She is also a talented basketball player and who, once again, stuffs the stat sheet and is a presence all over the court. She can shoot the 3, drive, and finish tremendously in the open floor. She mixes it up just as well with the bigs underneath and grabs down the rebounds too. Her passing skills are also good, and she understands the game displaying a high basketball IQ. Good things in store for this kid. An incredible prospect to keep your eyes on this summer.

Dawsen Dorsey Dawsen Dorsey 5'10" | PG Davenport Assumption | 2022 State IA , 5’10, G, Davenport Assumption, 2022
I was in a starstruck gaze when I saw Dawsen play in a short highlight video. I am beyond impressed with the talent and skill level of this kid. There is absolutely no question she should be getting an insane amount of interest from DI universities, most specifically noting high-level colleges. This individual right here is the real deal, and blew my mind right when I saw her. One of the top ball handlers I’ve seen in this class, she can create many scoring opportunities for herself and for fellow teammates. Her savvy and passing skills are off the charts as well. Displays an all-around, full package game. Do not let her 7 point average this past season fool you, as she has the capability to bust out the scoreboard with her skillset. Phenomenal upside. An amazing prospect to keep your eyes on this summer.
