With that in mind, here are six standout 2022 prospects from the tournament:
Jade Masogayo | 2022 | 6’2’’ Power Forward/Center | Texas Elite 17U 3SSB | Fossil Ridge HS – Masogayo was great about dominating her mismatches and utilizing her size advantage in the low post. That’s exactly what you want to see out of a 6-foot-2-inch big. She displayed the ability to score while facing up as well as with her back to the basket. Additionally, her touch near the hoop was excellent and her rim protection was solid.
Addyson Hebel | 2022 | 5’8’’ Shooting Guard | True Texas Hoops 2022 | Aledo HS – Hebel was fantastic when attacking the basket off the bounce. The Aledo guard consistently got into the teeth of the defense by exploiting undisciplined closeouts. Once she got into the paint, she often finished with runners over the top, enjoying success as a slasher on both sides of the basket and when driving from the baseline. Hebel also showed that she is capable of making threes.
Kennedy Holtermann | 2022 | 5’9’’ Shooting Guard | Lady ProSkills SATX | Incarnate Word HS – Holtermann put together one of the best three-point shooting performances I’ve seen this summer on Saturday. She was brilliant from deep, sinking six triples in her afternoon game, five of which came in the first half. The 2022 two-guard was virtually automatic when given just a little space to let it fly. She knocked down threes from a variety of spots and displayed beautiful mechanics on her jumper. This girl is a sniper.
Tate Wells | 2022 | 5’8’’ Combo Guard | Texas LoneStar Red – 3SSB | Ponder HS – Wells was an individual who played with energy and urgency during this tournament. She continuously flew around and made things happen for her team at both ends. The Ponder guard displayed versatility as a scorer, evidenced by some mid-range jump shots from the elbows and good takes to the basket. I saw her make a corner three from the catch too, forcing defenders to respect her outside shooting.
Jada Nelson | 2022 | 6’1’’ Power Forward | Lady ProSkills SATX | Churchill HS – Nelson possesses good height and the necessary shooting touch from mid-range to stretch the floor and provide spacing for her team. The 2022 forward was mobile and light on her feet. Her defense was outstanding, blocking several shots on Saturday. I loved the way she was able to maintain her verticality when challenging shots down low.
Victoria Dixon Victoria Dixon 5'5" | PG South Grand Prairie | 2022 State TX | 2022 | 5’6’’ Point Guard | Texas Elite 17U 3SSB | South Grand Prairie HS – Dixon’s quickness with the ball was exceptional this weekend. She is a twitchy ball handler who can get past her defender in the blink of an eye. The South Grand Prairie floor general had some nice Euro step finishes at the basket after blowing by opponents. She was also responsible for some good-looking assists via entry passes and drop-off dimes after driving to the basket. She is poised for a big high school season with the departures of 2021 prospects Kiara Jackson Kiara Jackson 5'8" | CG South Grand Prairie | 2021 State TX and Kendall McGruder Kendall McGruder 5'9" | SG South Grand Prairie | 2021 State TX .
