She was able to hold her own down low with taller posts and played really good fundamental basketball being able to box out effectively, use her right and left hand when finishing around the rim, and possessed above average footwork being able to maneuver around and through opposing defenders. She occasionally played the 5 for St. Johns showing an above-average basketball IQ on defense being in help-side and taking several charges with great positioning.
Christena Walker – Ellendale – (6’0/PF/2023) – Walker was one of the biggest posts at the Legacy Camp. She showed a lot of skill work playing back to the basket with some good footwork for soft right-handed finishes and a nice up and under move. Walker showed the ability to shoot from the mid-range area and even put the ball on the floor ripping baseline. If Christena can polish off that mid-range shot to be consistent she could be a real threat for the Cardinals this year.
Grace Kelly Grace Kelly 6'1" | SF Shiloh Christian | 2022 State ND – Shiloh Christian – (6’1/SG-PF/2022) – Grace put on a clinic at the Legacy camp. She showed her versatility in being able to guard any position on the court as well as showing she can play inside and outside. She hit several 3 pointers throughout the camp that had opposing post players play her a bit tighter. Kelly then showed she can put the ball on the deck and has a superbly quick first step for standing at 6’1. Kelly finished smoothly around the rim with either hand and showed a soft touch when working out in the post. Grace will be a player to keep a close eye on this year as she progresses to even greater heights for her senior campaign.
Jessica Walsvik Jessica Walsvik 6'0" | C West Fargo | 2022 State ND – West Fargo – (6’0/C/2022) – Jessica showed some tenacious rebounding ability. In the first game of the camp, she posted 6 offensive boards alone. She showed great strength in being able to fight down low for positioning and could worm around almost any double team it seemed like. To go along with her impressive rebounding ability Jessica displayed a high put-back rate in finishing around the rim. Jessica looked a lot like a traditional Center player in focusing on posting up and setting fantastic screens to free up her guards. With an already stacked West Fargo squad look for Walsvik to put in a lot of dirty work this coming season.
Alyssa Eckroth Alyssa Eckroth 6'1" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2023 State ND – Bismarck Legacy – (6’0/Wing/2023) – Alyssa proved to be one of the best shooters at the Legacy Camp. Granted she had home-court advantage, she shot a high percentage of shots and showed great shooting technique in always being low and hungry for the basketball. Alyssa can put the ball on the deck for a pull-up jumper but was best when ripping off screens and showing amazing footwork in being able to worm through traffic for her shot.
