Continue ReadingThe uncommitted players that are in this 2022 class are currently off to the races as we start off July. Each and every one of them has the sheer desire and will to impress all college coaches. July is a crucial time for each player to show their skills, talent, and what they are made of both on and off the court. Each of these kids should make it a main priority to make the most out of this moment (as in the rest of the AAU circuit and senior season) to bring the action day in and day out. You never know who is watching, and you never know what opportunity could stem from a 20 point game during the July recruiting period. Maybe there is an NCAA DI coach in the stands that is looking for another addition to their class, and is reluctantly; but managing to keep his/her eye on kids who are performing well in games. You might look over at them and see that they are not making eye contact with your court or with any of the players on the two teams; however, it is important to remember that there is always someone watching every move, gesture, glance, shot, pass, rebound, block, interactions with teammates and coaches, interactions with opposing players, etc. It is surely not uncommon to see an incoming senior land themselves into a DI program by the end of the month of July, beginning of August. We see many standouts that commit to DI programs the first three years they are in high school; however, we also see a handful of players that grab a coach’s attention throughout the course of numerous AAU games as they are preparing for their senior year. Setting aside the DI level; plenty and plenty of NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO college coaches are also bringing the fire and mentality doing everything they can in their power this summer and fall to latch up a 2022 kid. In the back of your mind just remember, “This is my time to shine.” I am now going to cover five kids in the Class of 2022 who would be tremendous additions to collegiate programs. Wham!
Jaci Christensen Jaci Christensen 5'10" | PF Audubon | 2022 State IA , 5’10, PF, Audubon, 2022
Jaci has the ability to cause fireworks on the stat sheet and put up ear-ringing, enormous numbers. Her ability to rack up the boards, to create the necessary space to box out her opponent, and to come up with the rebound makes her an elite rebounder. She can also score the ball, as she finished off this recent high school season averaging a double-double. A versatile kid who can cause so much damage on both ends of the floor. Physical, aggressive, and a load to carry for opposing teams. I like her stroke; as she can hit the 15-footer and also the 3-pointer with a great shot. A great product to watch this July.

Meredith McKnight Meredith McKnight 5'8" | SF Grinnell | 2022 State IA , 5’8, SG, Grinnell, 2022
Meredith is a highly skilled offensive player. She is very dynamic in terms of what she can do by putting numbers on the scoreboard. Her capability to drive to the basket and finish with both hands makes her a serious handful from either the point guard position or as an off guard. She is extremely crafty, shifty, and can finish in the lane with no problem against post players of all sizes. Her shooting ability is off the charts, especially her 3-point prowess. She has a pure stroke and has deep range to top off her beautiful release and form. She can rebound the basketball with almost four a game this recent high school season, despite her 5’8 height frame. She displays a clever knowledge for the game too. Her passing skills are good, and she sees the floor well. A great product to watch this July.

Maddie Nonnenmann Maddie Nonnenmann 6'0" | PF Mid-Prairie | 2022 State IA , 6’0, PF, Mid-Prairie, 2022
Maddie is a kid you would just love to have on your team because of the abundance amount of superiority she brings to the court. Her size at 6’0 is basically says it all. She not only has the size and strength, but she also has the full package with both her offensive and defensive skills. Her ability to finish all kinds of shots in the paint with both her back to basket, as well as facing the basket make her an elite big. She can also hit the 15-footer, as well as the 3-pointer. She has a nice shot and can make defenders pay with a high-level versatile game going. Her prowess on the boards is in another world as well, as she can surely rack up the rebounds each game. It is not uncommon to see her block shots too. She has an adept handle and also can get to the rim finishing difficult shots. A great product to watch as she starts off her senior year in upcoming months.

Sailor Hall Sailor Hall 5'6" | PG West Liberty | 2022 State IA , 5’6, PG, West Liberty, 2022
Sailor is an excellent guard that brings a scoring mentality to the court. She can score in a variety of ways; mixing up her ability to shoot the 3 ball with a pure stroke and deep range, can get to the rim in the half court, and also thrives in the open floor game by being able to blaze down the court and finish in various ways on the break. Her offensive skills are carried over to her floor game, as she also has the capability to get assists (dimes) to fellow teammates. Her vision and court awareness is at an ultimate high. Has tremendous athleticism as well. Her quick hands and feet result in complete chaos for opposing teams. She can tally up the steals in a heartbeat and is always getting hands and deflections on passes. A great product to watch this July.

Mara is an outstanding guard who has an unbelievable shooter’s touch. Right when the ball leaves her fingertips, the ball is going in the net the majority of the time. She is another kid with severe range and can really stretch the defense. She is lethal in the open court as she can rally up the bunnies with good finishing ability. She also has the capability to drive to the basket with a great handle. She has superb athleticism and can get into passing lanes to steal the ball with no problem. She has good savvy too. Her passing ability with phenomenal court vision are at a high level. A great product to watch as she starts off her senior year in upcoming months.
