Class of 2024 Watchlist: Point Guards (Pt. 1)
In this article:
We are finally at the point guard position of the 2024 watchlist, having already covered prospects at the center, power forward, small forward and shooting guard positions. The class of 2024 is brightest at the PG slot with some heavy hitters and depth at the position as it appears early on. This is in no particular order and part two with more point guards will be published next.
Point Guards Watchlist (Part 1)
5’7 Mya Alvarado Mya Alvarado 5'8" | PG East Valley | 2024 State WA out of East Valley High School is one of the top rising sophomores in the Yakima/Yakima Valley region. Alvarado can knock down the three ball, drive to the paint and score with either hand and she hits her free throws. She does a very good job of handling the ball against pressure as well. She is at her best when she is being aggressive to look for her own shot, because she is an above average scorer in many settings.
5’7 Teagan Colvin represents Liberty High School in the greater Spokane area. Colvin plays at a small school, but she has big game. Already holding multiple Division 1 offers, Colvin continues to work hard on her game. She can hit the deep three or midrange jumper. Despite standing 5’7 and playing the one, she gets in there and boards with the bigs very well, which shows her fearlessness and aggressive style of play.
5’7 Lainee Houillon Lainee Houillon 5'7" | PG Sumner | 2024 State WA is a player that was brought to my attention just recently from Sumner High School. Sumner has been on a solid run with talent recently and Houillon looks to keep that going for years to come. She is a skilled point guard that is a solid shooter and I look forward to getting further evaluations of her in the future.
Others On Watchlist – Teyah Clark Teyah Clark 6'0" | PF Lynnwood | 2024 WA (Bishop Blanchet), Taylor Schwab (Gig Harbor)
