With the trophy and bragging rights up for grabs, nothing was left on the table from any of the teams that I saw. There was good competition from all over the map with a lot of upcoming names to remember. Below are a few of the top 2022’s that stood out to me.
2022 5’10″ PG #0 Reagan Fox Reagan Fox 5'9" | SF Blanchard | 2022 State OK (Oklahoma Federal Ballerz)
Fox is the kind of player that the games just come
s to her naturally. Whether she is with or without the ball, she moves effortlessly and makes the game on the offensive end look easy. A point guard that wants to share the ball with good handles and an even better vision of the floor. Lead her team in assists but had the ability to get to the hole through traffic and draw the foul.
2022 5’8″ PG #13 Aliyah Kvamme (All In 17u Gold)
A high-energy, versatile point guard that can take care of the ball and make the most efficient pass. Kvamme makes the right play regardless if she is dishing or shooting the ball. She takes pride in her hustle and when encouraging her teammates. Can play big down low when necessary and finish at the rim. With Aliyah in the game, it is like having another coach on the floor running the plays for you and getting you into position. Very smart basketball player.
2022 6’2″ SG #22 Ysabella Fontleroy Ysabella Fontleroy 6'1" | SF Kickapoo | 2022 State #27 Nation MO (Banshees 17u 3SSB)
Every single time that I have seen Bella play this summer, she has been an overall standout in each tournament against top-tier competition from all over the country. She has so much poise to her on and off of the court that you really don’t see in girls her age too often. Fontleroy has the ability to give off the impression that she is a player that flows easily and quietly to her position to knock down shots but when you catch her off the dribble or posted up down low, you will quickly find out that there is more to her game than her poise. Ysabella went on later in the tournament to be awarded a spot on the Adidas 3SSB All-Tournament Team! She is a natural leader for everyone around her. You can’t keep your eyes off of her. Don’t forget this name!
2022 6’2″ C #24 Tessa Chaney (NWBA 17u 3SSB)
Chaney is a productive big down low that can also run the floor well in transition for the easy lay-up. She is more comfortable around the block getting big-time offensive rebound put-backs than she is shooting the ball. A very aggressive player that will make it extremely hard for the defense to be able to get a stop without fouling her. Can finish in a congested lane with either hand.
2022 5’7’ SG #42 Casey Scharoff (All In 17u Gold)
Do not leave Scharoff open anywhere on the court!!! She can shoot the lights out of the gym and can take care of the ball when she needs to. This girl is a fighter that stays up all game to put pressure on the ball and force a turnover. Her quick hands and feet help her get the steal and pass ahead for assist. Casey is flying around every minute that she is in the game and very rarely lets up for a break. She really helped her team down the stretch get back into the game with her deadly 3-balls and defense.
