Continue ReadingI had a chance to catch PassThaBall’s #Next100 Individual Showcase in Killeen TX on Saturday, MS and HS ballers from across Texas, Oklahoma, and even one of my kinfolks from Louisiana, well probably and after that event, I drove to Duncanville to catch Rise hosted by World Wide Sports and the good things is that every team was evaluated, just like I did with over 80 players on Saturday and to say I saw several next level players, including #D1Locks from both events would be an understatement yet here are some players that stood out at Rise, I’ll also drop more names on my website, that was Part 1
Makayla Vation-5’11 SG (Pro Skills OG) 2024
Vation’s first name is probably incorrect, this is why I request rosters because this young lady is definitely a #D1Lock, it may be Makeyla which would fit since you can throw the KEY away, see how I did that, yet her athleticism and scoring around the basket just floored me yet her UPS for rebounds, on both ends of the court, gave her tons op putbacks but she also takes defenders with ease off the dribble, Then she two things that made me “drop the mic” well clipboard, she pulled up for the “stop and pop” in transition and dropped a 3 and she did it again after “playing the passing lane” so her handling of the ball in the open court is nice also
Ayonma Cooper-5’9 SF (Pro Skills OG) 2025
Cooper’s first name is also a maybe, I hate do-overs, even before I heard Avon say it on The Wire, and unlike that idiot from BDS, I copy no one but I also observe and watching her potential just grabbed me, especially as the games progressed. She goes up strongly and finishes the same way but her power also goes on the defensive end, she creates so much pressure to bust pipes and when that happens, she’s off with the ball going down the court for baskets. Strength and upside will have me getting her name eventually
Tiara Louis-5’8 CG (Lady Arnold Elite) 2024 @tiaraa4_
Louis just finds a way to impress me no matter what the setting is and her poise really did it for me in Battle In The Alamo a few weeks ago, but alas, she plays the same way no matter what, up or down and when you find that in a player, it speaks volumes as she falls into the “never takes a play off” category. She understands how to create her shot under pressure as well as how to take defenders off the dribble but she also wants the shot down the stretch and her jumper is nice
Morgan Davis-5’7 PG (Pro Skills OG) 2026
Davis caught my eye in 4th grade and I haven’t blinked watching her progression on the court yet I was overwhelmed and surprised when I saw the “growth spurt” and really had to take a second look yet that growth also stands out on the court, yeah she plays the 1, always showed she could run a team, control the tempo and handle the ball under pressure but she’s also showing stronger defense, I’m talking “on the ball, baseline to baseline” yet her pull-up jumper and her range also looked good and she is nowhere where she’s going to be which is scary but she’s going to be in that Top 100 for 2026, trust me
Deveah Johnson (Amarillo Lady Blue Devils) 2026
Johnson just got me going early, in this era, I don’t what’s being taught yet I know what isn’t and that’s playing the passing lane because all you need is effort so really, you don’t anyone to teach it, yet they should but she’s long and athletic, scores multiple ways including from the wing after contact and she is definitely one I’m keeping an eye on for Th3 2026 Watch List
