There’s so many players to take a look at as the season quickly approaches, so with the release of our new 2022 updated player rankings, we’re giving you some players from Central Jersey who have risen up the ranks and should be on your radar this fall.
Our first player is a two-way star at Trinity Hall, guard Haven Dora, who led the team in assists and steals this spring. Consider the basketball season Dora’s tune-up for lacrosse season in the spring, but she’s turned into a fantastic scorer and passer.
The biggest thing that’s stood out to us is her defense as she nearly averaged five steals a game as a junior. Dora has been clicking on all cylinders and the conditioning of being a two-sport athlete means that when others get tired on the court, she’ll crank things up a gear.
This program is looking for something to build off of after a strong 2021 season, and Dora is the exact person to inject more life and energy this coming fall.
After Dora, we move over to one of the best defensive presences in the Shore Conference, forward Keira Munyan of Point Pleasant Boro, who put up nearly 2.0 BPG and over 3.0 SPG as a junior.
She’s not as much of a scorer as others we’ve covered, but where she doesn’t dominate on the scoring chart, she makes up for with her rebounding, blocks and steals. She prides herself on her defense and she’s put up the stats to back it up.
Don’t expect her scoring to fall behind much as she does have double-double potential coming into the season, but if Point Pleasant needs a big defensive stop late in the game, Munyan will most certainly be the player to step up and make it.
The last player will be talking about in this article is guard Dani Schlesinger Dani Schlesinger 5'9" | CG Marlboro | 2022 State NJ from Marlboro, a team that put itself on the map in the spring and is expected to do much of the same this coming season.
Schlesinger has been the driving force behind this team’s success, along with Sammy Jay, but with her graduating this spring, Schlesinger is the big name to carry this team.
She’s a great scorer and has shown improvement on her outside shooting, something that will play this fall. Along with that, she’s versatile, especially on the defensive end, and with more of a focus on her defense this summer, expect some massive strides being taken this season overall.
We’ll be putting out plenty more content with our rankings coming out and more, so keep your eyes out for more with Prep Girls Hoops.
