2022
Kenna Gibson Kenna Gibson 5'5" | CG Clear Springs | 2022 State TX -5’8 SG ( Clear Springs HS) Skyrise Edmond
Gibson showed me she would be one of the best long ball shooters in the state back in middle school yet her unlimited range has excelled what I saw coming because her release is fluid and quick and her wrist is strong because she dropped 25 to 30 footers with ease
Brooklin BROWN Brooklin BROWN 5'9" | SG Shadow Creek | 2022 State TX -5’10 SG (Shadow Creek HS) Skyrise Edmond
Brown shoots the long ball, attacks off the dribble, and has very good body control that enables her to finish, after contact included yet her midrange is what has been even more impressive as she sets the defender up smoothly and gets to wherever she wants and just drops the pull-up but she also plays the passing lane
Aryelle Stevens Aryelle Stevens 6'0" | PF Pearland | 2022 State TX -6’1 PF (Pearland HS) Skyrise Edmond
Stevens is one of the Most Improved players in her class, she always battled fiercely inside,I dropped the #BEAST hashtag earlier this season yet her finishes around the rim, with either hand, after contact has just wowed me, well so has her facing the basket to drop the short jumper, oh and her defense is a YES!
R’Mani Taylor R’Mani Taylor 5'7" | PG Shadow Creek | 2022 State TX – 5’6 PG (Shadow Creek HS) Skyrise Edmond
Taylor showed me she was a #D1Lock while dribbling in street clothes, in the 5th grade, I’ll never forget that yet she has left me with some memorable things like her patented “no look” passes on the money so her ability to see the floor is among the best in the state, so is her running a squad, plus she has deep range
Maurdaisha Powell Maurdaisha Powell 5'10" | SF Dulles | 2022 State TX -5’11 SG/SF (Dulles HS) Skyrise Edmond
Powell simply has been a terror defensively, wait, she’s “long and athletic” which is the base I use, so do college coaches and when you factor in her timing, well she blocked 5 shots in a row on the same possession and she plays the passing lane but she does a good job creating her shot for the jumper
Mercedes Mancha Mercedes Mancha 5'7" | CG Alvin | 2022 State TX -5’6 PG (Manvel) Skyrise Edmond
Mancha has put on gutsy performances all season, on a sprained ankle she comes in the game because the team was shorthanded and drops a 3, who does that, but her dropping a 3 is nothing I haven’t seen as she creates her shot under pressure yet she also handles the ball and sees the floor, the same way, under pressure
Deja Hinson Deja Hinson 5'6" | PG Clemens | 2022 State TX -5’6 PG (Clemens HS) SA Finest Tay Bo
Hinson understands how to control the tempo, yet she also has a very nice first step to attack and finish or attack and dish and her passes are solid, well so is her jumper from mid to long-range and she does a good job on defense
Sierra McDermed Sierra McDermed 5'8" | CG SA Johnson | 2022 State TX -5’8 SG (Johnson HS) SA Finest Tay Bo
McDermed is one of those players you need to guard immediately because she has very good range and can score off the dribble yet she also does things in the flow, doesn’t force anything and the clincher is her delivering in the clutch
Kelsie Hawkins-5’6 PG (Reagan HS) SA Finest Tay Bo
Hawkins has the acronym SWB which is “speed with ball” so watching her go coast to coast under control and still being able to see the floor at full speed makes her a definite threat in transition because she can keep it or drop the stop and pop
Gabby Elliot-6’0 SF/PF (Smithson Valley HS) SA Finest Tay Bo
Elliot uses her body well around the rim, understands positioning which enables her to outrebound taller players, yet it also allows her to finish against taller players and this includes after contact because she has a strong body and goes in with power
Jasmyn Brock-5’9 PF (Clemens HS) SA Finest Tay Bo
Brock uses her body well, set solid screens, and rolled for baskets but she also did a good job defending inside the paint. She rebounded and ran the floor well
2023
Caitlynn Jordan-6’2 SF (Dallas Christian) UHE 16U
Jordan used her size to alter, deflect and block shots because her timing was on point. She also rebounded on both of the floor and finished around the basket
