Blair vs South Sioux City 2/16/21
Makayla Baughman Makayla Baughman 5'8" | PG Blair | 2022 State NE – 5’8 PG 2022 – Blair – OSA National – Makayla was missed in our last rankings update but she has now been added to the database. She is so skilled in all facets of the game of basketball. Her ability to see the floor and make the right decision with the ball is unmatched. So smooth with the ball in the open court and can attack and also control pace. Such a playmaker with the ball in her hands, as you’ll see her get into the lane and make a skilled dump-off pass to an open teammate for two. Another impressive trait of Makayla’s is her ability to pass with both hands with ease. With all this mentioned, she’s also a lights out three-point specialist that you can’t leave open. Per MaxPreps, Makayla averaged a solid 15.3 ppg. on the season. Her defensive ability, help defense, and rebounding may be overlooked. A complete prospect that shows an extremely high basketball IQ. Makayla has received NAIA offers and I believe she can play at the D2 level from a skill standpoint.
Leah Chance Leah Chance 5'4" | CG Blair | 2024 NE – 5’4 SG 2024 – Blair – Leah is a low to the ground and super quick athlete. A good, quick, and alert defender that will chase her matchup all around the court. Has a great three-ball and put in 5.9 ppg. as a Freshman at the varsity level. Leah will definitely be a prospect to watch in the coming years.
Mya Larson Mya Larson 5'5" | CG Blair | 2022 State NE – 5’4 CG 2022 – Blair – Retro Hoops – Mya is an absolute threat on the court shooting the ball. She has a smooth stroke from deep and shoots with a ton of confidence and no hesitation in her release. She’s not afraid to let it rip well beyond the three-point line, when the defense isn’t expecting a shot. Along with her deadly three, she has an explosive first-step to get by the defense. Has filthy handles and uses them as well to get the defense off balance or to blow by them. Averaged 13.7 ppg. on the season per MaxPreps. She’s a college prospect, as she’s already picked up offers to play at the next level.
Sami Murray Sami Murray 5'5" | SG Blair | 2022 State NE – 5’5 SG 2022 – Blair – Sami is a big-time playmaker as a passer and creator of offense for Blair. She may be underrated as she looks for her teammates first and didn’t put up huge scoring numbers. But she can get in the lane and by the defense and make plays for her teammates.
Allison Hernandez Allison Hernandez 5'5" | SG Blair | 2023 State NE – 5’5 SG 2023 – Blair – Allison is a defensive specialist that plays with high energy. Sprints the floor and stays with her offensive matchup. Great lateral athleticism, making her a lock-down on-ball defender.
Aubree Vanberkum Aubree Vanberkum 5'6" | SG South Sioux City | 2022 State NE – 5’6 SG 2022 – South Sioux City – Vanberkum loves to shoot the three and that’s where most of her shots come from. She put up 98 attempts, making 26 of them for 27%.
Brooklyn Heineman Brooklyn Heineman 5'7" | PG South Sioux City | 2024 State NE – 5’5 CG 2024 – South Sioux City – Brooklyn is a young prospect that got varsity playing time as a Freshman. A majority of her shot attempts came from three and she went 17-60 for 28% on the season. South Sioux City graduates many Seniors so Brooklyn should have a large role in the upcoming season. Most likely translates into a point guard at the next level.
Abbi Aitken Abbi Aitken 5'9" | SF South Sioux City | 2024 State NE – 5’8 SF-PF 2024 – South Sioux City – Abby is another young prospect that played minutes on the varsity level. Saw limited minutes of her but she can play on a wing and has some playing strength for a young prospect to play inside as well.
