Continue Reading#16 Nataya Lockett Nataya Lockett 5'9" | SG Omaha Benson | 2022 State NE – 5’9 CG 2022 – Omaha Benson – Unity Stars – Natalya is a smooth and athletic shooting guard, that we were a little to low on in the initial 2022 rankings. Exceptionally long arms at the guard spot. Active and gives solid effort defensively to stay in front and contest shots. Has a full repertoire of offensive moves and doesn’t need help to get her shot up or to find ways to score. Creative in her handles to develop separation to score. Nataya has large upside going into the next level with her length, skill, and frame to build strength on.
#32 Destiny Shepherd Destiny Shepherd 5'6" | PG York | 2022 State NE – 5’6 PG 2022 – York – Concordia University – Destiny recently committed to Concordia University. Destiny doesn’t really have a weakness to her game and she’s what you want in a point guard. Handles the ball and pressure well. Drives in the lane and kicks to shooters. Drives and can finish and score for herself. Can shoot the three, making 28 on the season. A great defender that moves with top-notch quickness in all directions. Destiny holds her own.
#42 Matalynn Campbell Matalynn Campbell 5'7" | PG Lincoln East | 2022 State NE – PG 5’7 2022 – Lincoln East – Cornhusker Shooting Stars – Mataylnn is a well-rounded, playmaking guard. Makes plays on both ends and puts up some impressions stats on D, with 5.0 rpg. and 3.1 stls. But her skill with the ball also makes her top 2022 prospect in the state of Nebraska. She’s on a short-list of guard prospects in terms of what she’s able to do with the ball and create on her own. Can breakdown a defender at an elite level.
#48 Molly Bruggeman Molly Bruggeman 5'9" | SF Elkhorn North | 2022 State NE – 5’9 SF 2022 – Elkhorn North – Omaha Supreme Basketball – Molly moves up a great deal from the initial rankings, into the top 50. Molly is a highly active and energetic wing player. On the move, looking for the next play to make or to get in an advantageous position for her team to succeed. Crashes the boards, defends, runs the floor. Does all the things that are in her control — at a very high level.
#51 Brooklyn Busby Brooklyn Busby 5'8" | CG Omaha Northwest | 2022 State NE – 5’8 CG 2022 – Omaha Northwest – Nebraska Hoops Elite – Brooklyn is an athletic combo guard that can show a handle and score the ball. Loves to breakdown a defender and make a move at them. Shot the three at a 34% clip. Has great acceleration and can move in quick spurts on the court. A twitchy athlete, which allowed her to make 35 steals on the season.
#56 Maddie Hilgendorf Maddie Hilgendorf 5'11" | SF Hastings | 2022 State NE – 5’11 SF 2022 – Hastings – Nebraska Attack 2022 Select Red – Maddie has some good size, skill, and an overall game to her. She was 36% from three and 74% from the line. Maddie contributed well for Hastings in many categories, with 132 total rebounds, 56 assists, and 36 assists. And her best ball she saved for late in the season, exploding for 17 points in the final game of the season in a narrow loss to Elkhorn North. With her solid combination of size and skill, Maddie can play at role at the next level in some capacity. A college strength and conditioning program to improve her foot speed would help take her game that extra step and help tremendously.
