Ashlon Jackson Ashlon Jackson 5'10" | SG Hardin Jefferson | 2022 State #22 Nation TX -6’0 CG (SA Finest)
Jackson has elevated her game every year since I first caught her in the 3rd or 4th grade yet one thing that has been consistent and that was her competitive spirit and finding ways to help her team win either by taking over at certain points or getting others involved yet when you think the game and posses the size and skillset she has, everything falls into place and the Duke commit shall make an impact immediately at the next level
Bailey Maupin Bailey Maupin 5'10" | SG Gruver | 2022 State TX -5’10 SG (SA Finest)
Maupin impressed me when I saw her initially with another program yet she blossomed this time around and was one of the best scorers I saw all of July, which is saying a lot because I saw a lot of them just go completely off yet her attacking and dropping her pull-up jumper had me going because you know it’s coming yet at times the defender is at her mercy because she elevates with power and her release is quick, she has committed to Texas Tech
Carleigh Wenzel Carleigh Wenzel 5'11" | SG O'Connor | 2022 State #51 Nation TX -6’0 SG (SA Finest)
Wenzel has been one of those players I just love watching shoot for a very long time because her shot is fluid, release is quick and she extends on the jumper so, with her size and length, she has no problem getting her shot off and watching her drain mid to long-range jumpers with a hand in her face has been something to see and committing to West Virginia will fit her style to a tee as I can picture her dropping it from there with the same results
Michayla Gatewood Michayla Gatewood 5'8" | PG DeSoto | 2022 State TX -5’6 PG (Team Lex Tarheels)
Gatewood has fought through injuries yet her perseverance, her mindset and her desire are all things you can’t teach as she came back each time with a vengeance and the heady PG who just is the “glue” that holds things together, especially in the clutch, was evident in elementary school because another thing you can’t teach is poise which she has always had and the Texas Tech commit will be more than ready for the next chapter
Jiya Perry Jiya Perry 5'11" | SF DeSoto | 2022 State TX -6’0 SG (Team Lex Tarheels)
Perry was probably one of the most improved players that were already a #D1Lock so seeing her continue to elevate her game as she elevates on her jumper was something yet the shots in the clutch just “grabbed” me because she did it effortlessly and seeing her create her shot under pressure for the jumper or to attack and finish, including after contact was very nice, so was her rebounding and defense
Breanna Davis Breanna Davis 5'9" | PG Red Oak | 2022 State TX -5’7 PG (Team Lex Tarheels)
Davis was in the 6th grade when I first saw her showing the “stop and pop” jumper in transition and the shooting, as well as range, just kept getting better and deeper yet what I’m equally impressed with is her ability to also run the 1 and show she could set up her teammates for easy baskets yet seeing the floor comes as easy as the pull-up jumper and her being vocal on the court is also a huge plus
