Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty was the last to do it back in May. Ionescu had 26 points, 12 assists and ten rebounds against the Minnesota Lynx. It just happens she also owns the women’s Division I college record with 26.
Any Ionescu’s in South Florida?
Claire Erickson Claire Erickson 5'6" | PG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL – Westminster Academy
Erickson came pretty close against Florida State University High School last season. The 5-foot-7 point guard had 11 points, 12 rebounds (season-high) and seven assists. Erickson grabs rebounds at a high rate for a backcourt prospect while dishing out regular assists. She had 92 total rebounds off the glass and recorded six or more assists in six games. In addition, Erickson will likely put up more points with Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL gone. The ball will be in her hands to capitalize on opportunities.
Angelina Kohlwaies Angelina Kohlwaies 5'9" | SG Cardinal Newman | 2023 State FL – Cardinal Newman
2023 Angelina Kohlwaies Angelina Kohlwaies 5'9" | SG Cardinal Newman | 2023 State FL is good enough to do this in a couple of different ways. The 5-foot-9 point guard is an active defender that had eight steals against Oxbridge Academy last season. Moreover, she had five or more swipes in six other games. Steals and rejections might be the hardest way to reach a triple-double. Therefore, Kohlwaies has the conventional way nearly down. She reached double-figures in a dozen games and grabbed ten or more rebounds in four contests. Her passing ability resulted in eight games with five or more assists. Kohlwaies is a playmaker that can stuff a stat-sheet.
Joey Delancy Joey Delancy 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2022 State FL – American Heritage
You obviously have 2022 Joey Delancy or 2022 Sydney Shaw Sydney Shaw 5'9" | SG DME Academy | 2022 State FL that can do this. Delancy is a powerful 5-foot-10 guard that can attack and dish. Of her 105 rebounds, she grabbed 45 on the offensive end. This is a tough player that will contribute anywhere on the court. Her frame allows her to make plays as a guard or conventional forward. Delancy averaged 11.5 points, seven assists and four rebounds per game for the 25-2 Patriots.
Janay Quinn Janay Quinn 5'2" | PG Miami Sr. HS | 2022 State FL – Miami High School
This is an easy one because Janay Quinn Janay Quinn 5'2" | PG Miami Sr. HS | 2022 State FL did it last season! The 5-foot-2 point guard 13 points, ten assists and ten steals against Killian. Quinn puts a ton of pressure and attention on the defensive end. In fact, she had four or more steals in 20 of 21 games. Even as a smaller point guard, Quinn grabbed six or more rebounds in 17 of 21 games. One area she could work on is her shooting. Quinn shot 31 percent from the field and 21 percent from deep.
Mariah Mckenzie Mariah Mckenzie 5'8" | CG American Heritage Plantation | 2023 State FL – Northeast
McKenzie has size (5’8’) and athleticism at guard. The 2023 averaged over 15 points per game and recorded three games with ten or more boards. In the assist column, McKenzie dished out ten against South Plantation last season. I think her numbers across the board could be better with better shooting and less turnovers. However, McKenzie has a lot of strong points to her game.
Michiyah Simmons Michiyah Simmons 5'8" | PG Blanche Ely | 2022 State FL – Blanche Ely
2022 Michiyah Simmons Michiyah Simmons 5'8" | PG Blanche Ely | 2022 State FL is obviously one of the best guards in the region. With Ja’Leah Williams Ja’Leah Williams 5'9" | CG Blanche Ely | 2021 State FL departing, she should have more control of the offense with the ball in her hands. Moreover, her decision making should be at the forefront as a senior. Simmons is a 15-point, five rebound and four assist player on an average day. She will slice and dice a defense all season long.
