Laney Beale Laney Beale 5'9" | PG Chapel Hill | 2022 State NC | Chapel Hill
Beale has continued to impress viewers this summer with her ability to control every aspect of the game. She speeds up the tempo peeling away immediately for a pass in transition, or she slows down the play when she needs to allow her team to set something up. In addition to handling the ball, she can shoot from all over the court increasing her range and showing off jump stops creating more space between her and her defender. Her finish at the rim is very difficult to defend, and her finesse with the ball getting there is fun to watch.
Kate Jones Kate Jones 5'9" | CG Greensboro Day | 2022 NC | Greensboro Day
Jones has been known as a great shooter for her high school career, but this summer she showed off a lot of versatility. Besides showing off her shot every chance she gets on the court, she showed off her midrange jumper as well. Posting up on the block was fun to watch from her because post players who have been there for a long time still struggled with guarding her as Jones seemed to embrace contact in order to score some points. She’s a player who is constantly moving on the court whether she is making effective cuts to catch a pass, or she is on defense anticipating passes.
Ashanti Lynch Ashanti Lynch 5'8" | CG North Lenoir | 2022 State NC | North Lenoir
Lynch’s (pictured above) decision making is what makes her a great play maker. She knows when to show off a fake and drive around her opponent as well as dish the ball to a teammate when driving hard to the basket. She is quick when it comes to showing off her shot, and she certainly has some range when it comes to shooting. You can enjoy her making some old fashioned three point plays, too. Active hands can be key on defense, and that is what she uses to cause problems for her opponents deflecting passes and constantly getting in their way.
Senali Moss Senali Moss 5'8" | CG South Mecklenburg | 2022 State NC | South Mecklenburg
Moss has had a phenomenal summer showing off her ability to score everywhere on the court. She doesn’t shy away from contact underneath the basket, and she creates space between her and her opponents to show off her shot. She knows how to convert defense to offense grabbing steals and pushing them up the court with ease. She’s a good decision maker knowing when to take the ball all the way herself or dish it to a teammate creating plays for them.
Indya Nivar Indya Nivar 5'10" | SG Apex-Friendship | 2022 State #59 Nation NC | Apex-Friendship
Player of the game/week/year is something that Nivar has grown accustomed to earning over the past year. She may be listed as a guard, but she doesn’t shy away from getting in the paint to grab a rebound or block shots. She runs the floor well making sure she’s available for a pass in transition or to block a shot preventing opponents from scoring on fast breaks. She can certainly get by opponents herself when handling the ball throwing them off with various moves to blow by them. Her ability to score on all levels makes her a threat all over the court.
McKenna Snively McKenna Snively 5'9" | CG North Raleigh Christian | 2022 State NC | North Raleigh Christian
Snively has had a hot summer shooting the ball, and I know that will continue with her new school at North Raleigh Christian this year. She follows shots making sure to box out an opponent in order to grab the rebound. She uses fakes to get by her opponents driving the ball and finishing at the rim. She shows the importance of timing when executing plays like waiting for her teammate to set the screen and rolling off their shoulder. Her length comes in handy when blocking shots.
