Among these teams, the two division winners were Neillsville and Osseo-Fairchild respectively. Even, undefeated Neillsville was only three games clear of second-place Loyal. So who may be the players that lead their teams in the conference season, and possibly beyond.
Makenna Rohrscheib Makenna Rohrscheib 5'9" | CG Regis | 2022 State WI -5’9 CG-Regis-’22: Rohrscheib is an out-and-out slashing wing who looks to drive by her defender and get looks as close to the basket as possible. This approach earned her Player of the Year in the Cloverbelt conference and git her 18.7 points around 5 rebounds and 4 assists a game. She left her imprint on games and led her team on a hell of a winning streak to end the season leading her team all the way to a regional final where they fell to Fall Creek. For her final season, this could be one to remember for Regis and one to keep an eye on.
Alyssa Wirth Alyssa Wirth 6'5" | C Altoona | 2024 State WI -6’4 C-Altoona-’24: One of the most gifted players in the sophomore class Wirth knows how to play to her strengths. She does a great job staying vertical when contesting shots and staying out of foul trouble, she has great hands and catches passes at the high point, and she does an excellent job keeping focus even when smaller defenders may be fouling her even when they go uncalled. However, she will need to take a leap to help Altoona improve on their 4-8 conference record, but Wirth has the talent to elevate any team she’s on.
Heavyn Kind Heavyn Kind 5'8" | CG Spencer | 2022 State WI -5’7 G-Spencer-’22: Kind is one of the leading returning scorers in the Cloverbelt conference returning to a Spencer team that was around a .500 team. Heading into next season Kind has the ability to finish her career off on a high. To end the season she played extremely well in the playoff games she got to play in. She is one to keep an eye on because of the continuity she has with the program and because of her ability to score in the big games, she’ll have.
Emma Mossley-Neillsville-’22- One of the best returning players to a team who went 14-0 in conference play a season ago Mossley is a player to key in on the Cloverbelt. As a senior on a team looking to continue their dominance, Mossley will have a ton of responsibility to keep Neillsville on top. For that alone Mossley will be interesting to see how she manages with added responsibility.
