Claudia Keene Claudia Keene 5'4" The Woodlands | 2025 TX -5’4 PG (The Woodlands HS)
Keene has several things going for her including her BB-IQ and when you’re heady, make decisions and play within yourself, for the novice, you don’t try and do something you can’t do or be flashy, good things will happen and she definitely showed me some good things like she understands how to control the tempo, which is very important because the game starts at the 1 but her court vision definitely was an eye-opener as she made tough passes look easy and since she could score off the dribble, watching her dish off the dribble was nice as well
DeLaney Williams DeLaney Williams 5'2" Crosbyton Cisd | 2025 TX -5’2 PG (Crosbyton HS)
Williams is another one of those guards I’ll place in the #sizedontamtter category with the hashtag because she’s definitely on to something, aka, she can play and watching her set defenders up to take off the dribble with a nice HEZ as well as catching them leaning with the stutter-step showed she has some tools to work with. Yeah, she scored after contact which was impressive in itself when you consider her size and the licks she took but as important as the licks were the looks she gave her teammates with nice passes for assist opportunities
Sydnie Villarreal Sydnie Villarreal 5'6" | CG St. Agnes Academy | 2025 State TX -5’6 G (St. Agnes Academy)
Villareal just gets after it and she probably was one of the best defensive guards at the camp, period and she seemed to enjoy applying “on the ball pressure” which is huge yet was even huger was she could also do it baseline to baseline while staying under control and causing turnovers. She understands how to trap and when to switch which are both “lost arts” yet she drew other pictures on what I see coming like she understands how to get hers “in the flow” that’s a huge intangible and in these types of settings, someone that knows the game picks up on things like that #ThereIsNoMe
Alyson Burris-Llamas Alyson Burris-Llamas 5'6" Leadership Prep Academy | 2025 TX -5’6 SG (Leadership Prep HS)
Burris-Llamas athleticism set it off as she is under control while attacking and showed she had good body control but her finishes after contact were nice as she set the defender up time after tu=ime to take “off the dribble” yet she also created her shot to drop the jumper, I saw her do it with a hand in her face but she’s poised and even showed the jumper in transition a couple of times, The athleticism also looked good on the defensive end as she applied pressure baseline to baseline and did something that I absolutely love to see players do, she played the passing lane
Simaii Andrews-5’10 SF (Eaton HS)
Andrews is drumroll please, long and athletic and the importance of that, let me repeat again, is that it’s one of the profiles many colleges and universities look at so when you start adding things to your game, like handling the ball from the wing and scoring after contact, that’s pretty big considering she was doing it against older players, some heading to the next level after this season. She also showed good timing to block, alter and deflect shots. She rebounded strongly, on both ends but the big kicker for me was, she plays the passing lane
Chanel Shuler-6’2 C (Prestonwood) 2026
Shuler is on the front page because I’m banking on her upside. No, she is nowhere near the finished product which is scary because from where she was when I first saw her until now, she’s on her way. She didn’t back down against the “bigs” some in their senior year and what was just as impressive as some of the older girls she went against complimented her and gave her some pointers which is how it used to be so let me drop #THROWBACK which is also what she did to several shots being attempted. She rebounded powerfully and she finished strongly after contact with both hands. The short jumper is coming around, so is her lateral movement on defense outside the paint
