U-Mary Team Camp Standouts (Part 4)

[player_tooltip player_id="317007" first="Anna" last="Elsen"] - Ellendale - (5’4/SG/2022) - Elsen is a big spark for the Cadinals in energy. She's able to cause massive defensive stops and often finds herself defending the best guard on the opposing team. Elsen has a sweet looking mid-range pull up with a quick first step in creating space between her and defenders. With some more added dribble moves to her arsenal she could be in for a nice break out season. [player_tooltip player_id="219716" first="Abby" last="Mathern"] - Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier - (5’6/SG/2024) - Mathern plays like a veteran upperclassman in only being a sophomore this coming year. She can get the job done in driving to the rim and finishing with a strong polished pro hop or pop and stop from 13-17 ft. Mathern averaged around 8 points last year and looks as though she'll run those number up a few ticks come winter. <span style="font-size: 1rem;">[player_tooltip player_id="242587" first="Dedra" last="Wood"] - Shiloh Christian - (5’10/SG/2024) - What Dedra lacks in speed she makes up for in height. Often seeing as she's mismatched with smaller quicker guards she uses her great length to her advantage in being able to slide over in front of opposing guards and </span>disrupt<span style="font-size: 1rem;"> passing lanes. Wood is a solid low post guard in having good positioning and awareness around the basket. Wood could shine this year with adding a lot of versatility to the court. </span> [player_tooltip player_id="243801" first="Anna" last="Schatz"] - Grant County - (5’10/SF/2023) - Schatz has a lot of potential in being able to shoot the ball consistently around mid-range and 3, often finding herself set up perfectly in passing lanes to get the ball. With some added dribble moves and polished around the rim post moves she could be a big play factor for Grant County this year. [player_tooltip player_id="250584" first="Mackenzie" last="Brandt"] - New Salem- Almont - (5’8/SF/2023) - Brandt displayed raw speed and athleticism in running the court effectively. She found herself a handful of fast break opportunities off turnovers and quick rips to the rim. With some more polishing around the hoop and handling the rock Brandt has tremendious upside.
