Aspen Johnson Aspen Johnson SF Seminole Ridge | 2021 State FL (Seminole Ridge / Team Knight) verbally committed to Mercer this month. Playing alongside Palm Beach Atlantic signee Jahnae Midget Jahnae Midget 5'11" | SF Seminole Ridge | 2021 State FL , Johnson has flown a bit under the radar in recruiting circles. She averaged 17.5 points per game to go along with 7.3 Rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.8 steals per game in a shortened season due to COVID for Seminole Ridge. At 5’11 she is a big, strong, versatile guard that can play all three guard positions. She is the the lone member of the 2022 class that was unranked that has verbally committed. Look for her to be one of the classes top newcomers and stock risers when the updated rankings come out next month.
Dyllan Hanna (Bartram Trail / East Coast United North) is ranked # 45 in the Prep Girls Hoop Florida rankings. At 6’1, she plays both the forward and center spot. She verbally committed to first year head coach Jennifer Sullivan at Florida Atlantic University, joining fellow Floridian Ajalon Gillard Ajalon Gillard 5'9" | CG West Orange | 2022 State FL in Coach Sullivan’s first recruiting class. Hanna gives the Owls an inside presence who can play both post positions. She plays bigger than her size and is not afraid to play physical and mix it up down low.
Emily McIntosh Emily McIntosh 5'11" | SF St. Augustine | 2022 State FL (DME Academy / East Coast United) is a 5’9 shooting guard ranked # 112 in the Prep Girls Hoop Florida rankings. This month she verbally committed to in state Rollins College. McIntosh is a skilled, high IQ, heady guard who can shoot the 3. I got a chance to see her this spring and summer with her East Coast United The Family squad. Playing both the PG and SG position, McIntosh showcased her ability to handle the ball, distribute to scores and knock down open shots.
6’1 athletic wing / forward Jada Green Jada Green 6'0" | PF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL (St. Thomas Aquinas / FGB) verbally committed to the University of Richmond shortly after the conclusion of the 2021 travel season. The # 42 ranked prospect in the Prep Girls Hoop Florida is a high academic prospect and brings athleticism and versatility to the A-10 school. She runs the floor well, rebounds on both the offensive and defensive end, blocks shots and can defender players both on the interior and the perimeter.
Kyleigh Welsh Kyleigh Welsh 6'3" | PF Clearwater HS | 2022 State FL (Clearwater HS / Tampa Thunder) is the # 72 ranked prospect in the Prep Girls Hoop Florida. Welsh is one of the state’s top shot blockers. At 6’2 she is long, athletic, mobile and extremely active. She brings all of this plus a ton of energy to NJIT in New Jersey. She has a high upside and is looking to help lead a loaded Clearwater HS squad to Lakeland and beyond in pursuit of an FHSAA state championship this season before she heads up north to play for NJIT!
East Coast United The Family teammate, Jazmine Jackson Jazmine Jackson 5'7" | PG Jackson HS | 2022 State FL (Jackson HS / East Coast United Family) also committed in the past few months and is also staying in state, choosing to attend St. Leo. The 5’8 guard is a quick, strong, combo guard who played well at the National Championships in Orlando. She displayed a well-rounded and versatile offensive game, playing well off the ball and scoring from the wing. She did a good job attacking the rim off the bounce, knocking down open shots, and playing up-tempo in transition. The # 138 ranked player Prep Girls Hoop Florida rankings should be a key contributor over four years for St. Leo.
