There were over 40 players who participated in the showcase as many of them were some of the top-ranked players in the state. Here are the top-six hoopers that stood out to me.
2024 6-0 SF Rory Conboy Rory Conboy 6'0" | PF Lindbergh | 2024 State MO – Linbergh
All gas no breaks as she makes play after play all over the court due to her nonstop motor. Offensively, she fields an array of moves to attack the basket accompanied by one of the cleanest pull-up jumpers I saw at the expo. Aggressive on defense as she is always swiping for the ball or providing game-changing blocks to protect the rim. Noticeably unselfish with the ball as she always wants to make the right play and is a vocal leader.
2024 6-2 PF Breona Hurd Breona Hurd 6'2" | PF Waynesville | 2024 State MO – Waynesville
She’s the No. 1 ranked player in her class for a reason as she’s the surest definition of a game changer. Not only does she score inside with ease, but she also hits outside shots and takes them with confidence. Protector of the rim who is always in position to come down with board after board. Continually swatting shots left and right, and she also has incredible burst to track down ball handlers. Pushes the ball with the best of them.
2025 5-10 SF Mari Miller Mari Miller 5'10" | SG Rock Bridge | 2025 State MO – Rock Bridge
Solidified herself as arguably the top all-around talent in her class. Showcased multiple moves offensively for easy buckets and is a deadeye shooter. Passes with perfect timing in order to make the best of each possession. Also has great timing defensively to come up with takeaways and turn them into fast-break scoring opportunities. Excellent court vision and has a high basketball IQ. Fluid rebounding the ball.
2024 6-0 SF Avery Simmons Avery Simmons 6'0" | CG Park Hill South | 2024 State MO – Park Hill South
It would be hard to find someone in the Class of 2024 who does everything as well as she does. Dominant force when driving and attacking the rim as she also swishes big-time shots from beyond the arc. Flies around the court defensively and has the innate ability to guard all five positions. Top-notch shot blocker when it comes to tracking down would-be, easy lay-ins. Has a real knack for pushing the ball.
2024 5-8 CG Allie Turner Allie Turner 5'8" | CG John Burroughs | 2024 State MO – John Burroughs
Has the ability to take over any game in the blink of an eye. One of the top shooters not only in her class but the entire state as she scorches the net from 3-point range and the perimeter. Premier three-level scorer as she also has a smooth attack of the rim after beating defenders with one of her fine-tuned moves. Makes the opposition play her tempo and is a pinpoint passer. Extremely aggressive and opportunistic on defense.
2022 5-7 PG Saniah Tyler Saniah Tyler 5'7" | PG Incarnate Word Academy | 2022 State #43 Nation MO – Incarnate Word Academy
There’s a reason why she’s nationally ranked, No. 1 in her class and committed to Kentucky: she can do it all. One of the best passers in the country as she drops dimes at any moment with bullet precision. Has an attack mentality in whatever she does and is an absolute floor general when running the show. Slashes defenses with moves like her perfected euro step and hits daggers from 3-point range. Unparalleled instincts on both ends.
