There were around 12 attendees with most of them being high school player, but there were a few 2026 and below players. Here are the hoopers that stood out to me during this one-day event.
2022 W Kasha Ward – Carterville (IL)
Takes command on both ends of the floor vocally while having excellent court vision and awareness. Has an array of moves to create for herself as well as beat double teams inside, which usually results in a smooth finish to the rim. Nice pull-up jumper she can hit from a variety of ranges and spots. Covers a lot of area to defend and come down with boards. Very opportunistic with the ball overall as she pushes and passes the ball with precision and purpose.
2022 CG Kristin Edmonds Kristin Edmonds 5'8" | CG Cape Girardeau Notre Dame | 2022 IL – Carterville (IL)
Three-level scorer who has a knack for finding ways to get a bucket on every possession. However, she’s selfless when there are opportunities for her teammates to score as she’s a brilliant facilitator with nice handle and finesse. Incredible on-ball defender because of her ability to mirror the opposition and come up with takeaways. Rebounds extremely well for her size due to her effort and body placement.
2023 CG Julyiah Rudder Williams – Centralia (IL)
Always a fast-break score waiting to happen. On top of her burst, she is an overwhelming force when attacking the rim and also fields a nice shot from beyond the arc. Active on defense as she keys in for blocks, deflections and steals, which usually result in scoring opportunities. Makes key passes no matter where or what she is doing on the court to make as well as keep plays alive. Plays with unhindered poise and confidence.
2022 SG Kacie Daigger Kacie Daigger 5'6" | SG Scott City | 2022 State MO – Scott City (MO)
Easily the top 3-point shooter at the event as she knocked down multiple from considerably deep ranges. Defenders have to cover her at all times because she has the ability to pull-up from wherever she wants off the dribble. On top of that, she has a nice pump fake accompanied by a smooth finish at the rim and nice handle. Has made strides in her game defensively to become a more complete player.
2026 W Trayah Delmore – Carbondale (IL)
While playing against mostly high schoolers, she proved to be one of the true up and comers in Illinois with her all-around talent. Opened eyes with her defensive ability to man players up and force turnovers. Has a lot of length for her age and knows how to use it. Offensively, she has a solid attack of the basket and proved she’s developing a clutch gene when she made a last-second shot in the third and final game of the day.
