Mia Poncho Mia Poncho 5'0" | C Livingston | 2023 TX -5’0 PG (Livingston HS)
Poncho is heady and under control with the ball. She sees the floor well and made some nice passes yet she also understands how to control the tempo and that, and being able to not only handle the ball under pressure but make good decisions under pressure are both huge, and remember #sizedontmatter when you can play
Valerie Edson Valerie Edson 5'2" Alvs | 2023 TX -5’2 PG (ALVS)
Edson understands something very important and that’s how to create her shot under pressure and seeing that she falls into that #sizedontmatter category, it’s nice to see her drop jumpers after setting the defender up. She also showed she could drop it in transition and the stop and pop was definitely effective
Alexia Lohman Alexia Lohman 5'9" | SG Royse City | 2023 TX -5’8 CG (Royse City HS)
Lohman saw the floor in several situations and her “threading of the needle” made tough passes look easy yet she also pushed the ball well and dished on the money several times, or just kept it for the jumper. In the set, she created her shot to attack the rim yet that court vision was still there as she attacked and dished nicely as well
Ryann Drummer Ryann Drummer 5'3" Manvel | 2023 TX -5’3 PG (Manvel HS)
Drummer does something I love to see and that’s “play the passing lane” and since she has good speed and can handle the ball going coast to coast under pressure, that gave them baskets either off her lay-ups or assists yet she also has a nice first step to take the defender off the dribble, in fact, her reverse layup over 2 defenders was one of the best of the event
Tatiana Oliver Tatiana Oliver 5'8" | SG C. E. Byrd | 2023 TX -5’8 CG (C.E Bird HS) LA
Oliver sees the floor very well, she also handles the ball under pressure and this equates to something even bigger like her being able to get the ball to the right people at the right time yet she also showed she could drop the midrange consistently as well as score off the dribble, with either hand after contact. Her rebounding was the “icing on the cake”
Raimi McCrary Raimi McCrary 6'0" | PF Allen | 2023 State TX -6’1 PF (Allen HS)
McCrary didn’t mind the physicality around the basket, she gave it and she certainly took it as off the rim as well as when she scored putbacks yet the contact didn’t bother, neither did the double-teams as she dished the ball out when it was;t there but her size, hands, and footwork to go with her rebounding all were nice, so is her upside
