The players mentioned in this article had a good showing on day one of the invitational and they are worth mentioning here. Some may not be the first option on their respective team, but they have something of value that coaches love to see.
Ivy Johnson | Wing | 2023 | Bentonville West
The first time I saw Ivy play was at a combine. I was eager to see her play in a more controlled environment and she did not disappoint. She brought the same energy and effort from the combine to her team. She attacked off the dribble, finished in the paint in a variety of ways, and showed she knows how to cut off a post feed for a pass back for the finish. She is definitely a young lady coaches should keep an eye on.
Bramyia Johnson | Wing | 2023 | Jonesboro
When you share the floor with one of the state’s top point guards and top post players, you can often be overlooked. Bramyia came out on day one and played a solid game showing her talent is worth taking notice. Chosen as the player of the game, Bramyia displayed a little bit of everything. She slid over to the point some to relieve the team’s starting pg. She was able to get to the rim off the dribble, can make the spot-up 3, and brings energy and effort on the defensive end.
Jasmine Davis | Combo Guard | 2023 | Parkview
Jasmine displayed a really good all-around game. She really stepped up big time in the second half to help lead her back into the game after falling behind double digits. Jasmine made spot-up three-pointers in the half-court and made plays off the dribble for herself and her teammates. She did well in the half-court but really excelled in transition. Pushing the ball, making the right play, and finishing at the rim.
Wynter Beck Wynter Beck 5'7" | CG Fayetteville | 2023 State AR | Combo Guard | 2023 | Fayetteville
If you are a guard and you are matched up against Wynter you have to be ready to bring it. She’s going to give a great amount of effort on both ends of the floor. The athletic guard was a solid defender that made the offense work. She pressured the ball making it tough on the ball handler. Offensively she uses her athletic ability to get to the rim off the dribble. She also showed she could have extended range out to the three-point line.
Morgan Gaines | Wing | 2023 | Fayetteville
Morgan is a wing player that played a solid game. She moved well without the ball and showed she could attack the basket off the catch under control and without traveling. When she decided she wanted to get to the rim no one stopped her from doing so. She also displayed the ability to create space off the catch with jab steps and ball fakes to create space to shoot and make the three.
