One of the top headlines of the last week is Jada Walters Jada Walters 5'11" | SF Garfield | 2022 State WA ’ commitment to Alaska Fairbanks. The 5’11 small forward attracted recruitment and attention from multiple schools, but took a visit to Fairbanks and decided that was the best place for her and what she wants in college. Walters projects to get a lot of early playing time and be an impact player from day one with her size and athleticism at the wing. Walters is locked and loaded for a strong senior season with Garfield High School and could be a member of a 3A state championship team.
Another 2022 to announce her college commitment is Kentwood High School’s Kaimyla Nolen Kaimyla Nolen 5'7" | CG Kentwood | 2022 State WA . The Kentwood standout will be attending Park University-Gilbert, an NAIA program in Gilbert, Arizona. Park University will be getting a 5’7 guard that loves to play defense, shut down the primary ball handler and play an unselfish style of play on the offensive end.
As a plethora of 2022 commitments have been announced, the second class of 2023 prospect has made her college decision early in her junior season. 5’7 point guard Hope Hassmann Hope Hassmann 5'7" | CG Tahoma | 2023 State WA of Tahoma High School posted on social media that she will be playing her college basketball at Cal Poly of the Big West Conference. Cal Poly will be adding a steady, high IQ point guard that can control the tempo of the game. She is a quality three point shooter that will keep the defense honest at the next level. She joins her high school teammate, Amelie Sitterud Amelie Sitterud 6'0" | SG Tahoma | 2023 State WA , as the only committed players in Washington’s 2023 class to date.
